Manufacturing, retail, medicine and so much more now rely on sometimes completely autonomous computing. Furthermore, computers have developed a completely new position unseen before Turing's time, the computer scientist. In 2022, the U.S. employed nearly 10.6 million individuals as computer scientists. Outside of computing technologies, Turing and his team represents the cryptographers and mathematicians and how mathematical theory can actually be applicable to real-life situations. Turing's team also represents how scientists are utilized in the military industrial complex. Beginning with the first World War, chemists, physicists, engineers, and mathematicians were pivotal and vital figures in fighting and winning a war. Arguably, current wars are now fought primarily with the might of science and engineering. Winning a war is now a matter of innovation instead of strategy or numbers.
