Fifteen minutes into Nimona, there is a scene where computers and electronic devices fall prey to a classic trope with security devices in media: a high-security prison door is controlled via digital keypad. Ballister is trapped behind this door, and there seems to be no method of escaping the cell. Nimona solves the problem by simply punching the keypad, shattering the screen and electronics and immediately releasing the door upwards. This is less to do with real-world security with computers, and more a convenient holdover of the "shoot out the lock" trope, both of which are common enough to have pages on TVTropes.org (see: "Destruction equals Off Switch").
