Please follow the rules and try to follow the suggestions below when making use of the tutoring services offered by the CS Tutor Squad.
Follow the student code of conduct. As a recipient of tutoring, you will be held to the same standards of behavior as in other areas of the college.
Be kind to the tutors. The tutors are students, just like you! If you are frustrated with a problem, please don't take it out on them. They are doing the best they can to help you.
Limit your appointments per day to 1. If you book more than one appointment on a given day, the tutors will only prioritize you for the first appointment. After that, they will only be able to continue helping you if there are no drop-in students.
Limit your appointments per week to a reasonable number. Please do not book an appointment every day during a given week! Other students need tutoring, too!
If you don't adhere to the rules above, you may have your tutoring session cut short, have one or more of your appointments removed, or be banned from receiving tutoring. Please take these rules seriously and ask a tutor if you have any questions about them!
Be on time for appointments. Of course, if an emergency comes up, missing or being late to an appointment is no big deal. But please try to be on time if you can! If you know you are going to be late or need to cancel, please send an email to the Tutor Squad (questions-cs-tutor-squad@googlegroups.com).
Read all instructions for an assignment before asking for help. That way, you can better explain the problem you are working on to your tutor and can be ready with specific questions about what you don't understand.
Work out a partial solution before visiting a tutor. It's helpful for tutors to see your thought process!
