1903: First flight of the Wright flyer
1914: First commercial flight
1916: Boeing founded (initially delivering mail)
1957: First flight of the Boeing 707
1967: First flight of the Boeing 737
1969: Airbus formed
1987: First flight of the Airbus A320 (first commercial fly-by-wire aircraft)
The higher the angle of attack, the more lift the wings generate until a stall condition is reached. At this critical angle of attack, the amount of air resistance the wings face is greater than the lift its able to generate, causing the plane to simply fall down to the Earth.
Avionics are the electronic systems used on aircraft. Avionic systems include communications, navigation, the display and management of multiple systems, and the hundreds of systems that are fitted to aircraft to perform individual functions.

Boeing mainly employs a fly-by-cable system, where pilots manually operate physical wires to change control surfaces
Airbus mainly employs a fly-by-wire system, where pilots input commands and an on-board flight computer interprets and executes the commands
