Who can vault?
Anyone can vault! We have taught vaulters ranging from toddlers to retirees.
What skills do I/my child need?
There are no physical requirements to join the team! Vaulters come from all backgrounds of gymnastics, dance, horseback riding, or nothing at all. The only requirement to be a successful vaulting is a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Do I need to have horse experience?
Horse experience is not necessary! A basic comfort around horses is encourage, however, all necessary horse handling skills will be taught. Many riders find vaulting beneficial to help develop a softer and more independent seat.
Is vaulting safe?
Vaulting is very safe! Many factors contribute to the safety of vaulting including the emphasis on safety drills, presence of a skilled lunger, and the controlled environment. Vaulters do not wear helmets as they interfere with balance and skills. However, risks are mitigated with routine emergency dismounts and safe training practices.
How much is it?
All vaulters start with drop in lessons, paying on a per lesson basis. Drop in fees are $45 per 3 hour team practice. Drop in fees are reserved for new vaulters on a temporary basis. Once committed to joining the team fees transition to $150 monthly. Additionally, vaulters will be able to complete multiple times throughout the year. Competitions incur $200-$600 in additional entry fees and costs per competition.
