Educational Philosophy

"I believe the ultimate purpose of Social Studies education is to establish the foundation for engaged citizenship in young people. The subject of history possesses a negative reputation among students as something that should remain in the past, however my goal as an instructor is to heavily emphasize the significance of the discipline in the student’s present and future. Essentially, I aim to impart the following learning goals to the students: be engaged in critical thinking and real world application of Social Studies that encourages social action."
