1. Embracing Immersive Roleplay and Community Standards
CRP thrives on the art of immersive roleplay. With this principle in mind, there exist certain guidelines for achieving the ideal roleplay experience that we expect in our community. Please follow the following to ensure this.
Avoiding Unnecessary Escalation: It is essential to treat your weaponry as a last resort when facing challenging situations. Prioritize creative roleplay over the use of firearms. Opt for dialogue and inventive approaches to navigate scenarios before resorting to violent actions.
Discouraging Violence: such as unwarranted robberies or killings, with minimal roleplay interaction between scenes, will lead to appropriate disciplinary actions. Remember, our RP environment emphasizes narrative-driven interactions, distinct from the actions found in Grand Theft Auto: Online. Overindulgence in violent behavior shows a lack of dedication to genuine roleplay and may result in removal from the community.
Age Requirement: Characters should be a minimum of 18 years old. This rule serves various purposes and must be adhered to during roleplay. Players under 18 years old are prohibited from engaging in any form of intimate relationship.
Mindful Roleplay: Instances of incongruous or minor roleplay transgressions may be overlooked but should ideally not arise in the first place. Engaging in actions like dancing on nonexistent stripper poles or leaping onto police cars in the presence of officers undermines the foundation of Solid Roleplay. Such behavior stands in contrast to realistic conduct, as one would not ordinarily leap onto a police vehicle.
Unwanted Patterns: Exhibiting the same behavior repeatedly in specific roleplay situations may warrant repercussions. For instance, constantly shooting at convenience stores during robberies, baiting law enforcement, or consistently engaging in disruptive actions against a particular group may lead to consequences.
Exploration and Storytelling: We encourage our players to explore the expansive city, connect with new characters, and craft compelling narratives. Strive to create stories that captivate and engage others, fostering a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Microphone Requirement: A functional microphone is essential for participating in RP. While there is an in-character local chat to address unforeseen microphone issues, a working microphone is a prerequisite for engagement in our community. On top of understandable English, No Spaming, Loud or annoying noises, sound boards, and unapproved voice changers (Must be approved Head admin+)
2. Restricting Unprovoked Player Elimination
Random Deathmatch (RDM), which refers to unprovoked elimination of players without interaction, is strictly prohibited in our community.
Initiation and Combat: Initiating combat with another player necessitates making your intent known. Initiation requires close proximity, ensuring the other player has an opportunity to respond either verbally or through actions. (Basically no sniping people randomly) Initiating combat while the other player is occupied with menus or animations is not allowed.
Mitigating Vehicle-Based Conflict: Engaging with a player while in a vehicle requires adhering to audio initiation rules. If you force interaction with a player while driving, the audio initiation requirement becomes void, permitting them to retaliate if they feel threatened. Keep this in mind when considering vehicular interactions.
3. Curtailing Vehicle-Based Aggression
Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM), defined as causing harm to another player using a vehicle, is a practice that we strictly prohibit.
Prohibited Acts: Intentionally causing harm to another player using a vehicle is strongly discouraged. Unless there is a good enough reasons, reasons may be questioned from scene to scene.
Theft of LEO vehicles: The theft of LEO vehicles is widely discourage against. The scene may demand the use of said vehicle but it should be considered an absolute last resort.
GTA Driving: This is strongly prohibited, If the car is not meant to go off road or you hit a pole going 50 that car will not operate and should not be RPed as such.
Exceptions: There are two scenarios where this rule may not apply: First, if you're escaping a perilous situation and an attacker unexpectedly steps in front of your vehicle, you are permitted to run them over in self-defense. Second, in cases of accidental harm, adhering to appropriate roleplay and resolution procedures can mitigate the rule violation.
4. Combat Logging and Its Implications
Combat logging involves exiting the game in an attempt to evade roleplay. This practice is prohibited in our community and manifests in various forms.
Examples of Combat Logging: Exiting the server to dodge legal consequences, logging out before the five-minute timer elapses, logging out to prevent weapon loss, or leaving the server after the respawn timer expires but before respawning are all instances of combat logging. Similarly, departing during an active scene or while incapacitated constitutes combat logging.
Reporting Crashes and Disconnects: In the event of crashes or disconnects, report them in the designated channel on Discord. This action aids in addressing any potential combat logging accusations.
5. Maintaining In-Character Immersion
Consistent in-character immersion is vital. Avoid referencing out-of-character (OOC) information within the in-game voice context. Even subtly alluding to OOC information is considered a breach of in-character immersion.
OOC Usage: Unless directed by a moderator or administrator, refrain from going OOC in the game. Avoid using OOC chat to berate rule violators; instead, utilize the reporting system to address such issues.
OOC Chat Purpose: Limit OOC chat to technical support and game-related inquiries. Utilizing OOC chat to taunt, interrogate, or boast to fellow players is unacceptable. The use of in-character chat for OOC purposes is also off-limits.
6. Respecting Sensitive Roleplay Themes
Certain roleplay themes require careful consideration and respect, such as slurs, sexual roleplay, gruesome scenarios, and mental health-related topics.
Slurs: Racism, homophobia, gender-based offenses, and other offensive slurs are strictly prohibited. Such language, even in slang form, will result in punitive measures.
Sexual RP: Any form of sexual roleplay is prohibited, regardless of consent or privacy. Engaging in such activities will lead to permanent bans. Rape roleplay is categorically forbidden.
Gruesome RP: Engaging in gruesome roleplay, such as torture, unless with explicit consent, is not tolerated. This behavior may also qualify as power-gaming.
Mental Health Roleplay: Depicting mental health-related scenarios, including self-harm, suicide, and abuse, is unacceptable. Should a situation make you uncomfortable, communicate your distress in local or OOC chat. Likewise, if informed by another player that your roleplay triggers this rule, cease that behavior.
Resources for Support: If you or others require assistance with mental health concerns, consult the provided resources to access help.
7. Preventing Exploitative Gaming Practices
The community prohibits metagaming, powergaming, and stream sniping, practices that undermine roleplay integrity.
Powergaming: Imposing actions on other players without affording them a choice contradicts immersive roleplay. Roleplay involves the voluntary responses of both parties, ensuring character autonomy.
Metagaming: Mixing OOC knowledge with IC scenarios for personal gain is against the rules. Only use in-character information received during roleplay. Gathering information through in-game mechanics or using OOC sources to learn about other players is considered metagaming.
Stream Sniping: Utilizing external live streams to locate players' positions and interact constitutes metagaming. Allowing any advantage through information outside the game is forbidden.
8. Safe Zones and Roleplay Limitations
Green Zones denote safe areas where aggressive actions, such as killing, robbing, or carjacking, are off-limits.
Green Zone Boundaries: Green Zones encompass spaces where criminal actions are restricted, including player spawn points, clothing stores, hospitals, claimed dealerships, LEO Stations, and more.
Exceptions to Green Zones: Certain businesses have chosen to opt out of Green Zone privileges due to potential for robbery. These businesses are not protected from criminal actions.
Maintaining Realism: Avoid exploiting Green Zones as a shield to swiftly engage in violent roleplay. If a player seeks refuge in a Green Zone to evade earlier roleplay, the Green Zone's safety is nullified.
9. Items, Locations, and Clothing Restrictions
Certain items, locations, and clothing are restricted due to various reasons within the community.
Restricted Items: Law enforcement and emergency service attire and vehicles, clothing that renders parts of characters invisible, civilian/news choppers, certain businesses, and more are on the restricted list.
Restricted Vehicles: Unauthorized use of emergency vehicles and aircraft is prohibited. Legitimate use requires faction affiliation and clearance.
10. Preventing Griefing and Reporting Abuse
Griefing, which disturbs other players' experiences, is strictly prohibited, along with revenge reporting, the act of reporting someone out of spite.
Griefing: Unwanted stalking, relentless targeting, harassment via text or tweets, or intrusive behavior in roleplay scenarios disrupts the immersive environment.
Revenge Reporting: Reporting others based on knowledge that they have reported you or others is unacceptable. Likewise, repeatedly recording others' actions to report them constitutes revenge reporting. Valid rule breach clips presented after 48 hours will not be entertained.
11. Abuse of External Communication Systems
In-character communication must remain within the game, using in-game means like voice, phones, or radios. Integrating third-party communication software for in-character purposes is strictly disallowed.
12. Promoting Realistic Roleplay
FailRP: instances encompass unrealistic situations that confer unfair advantages. It's important to align actions with what is plausible for your character.
Examples of FailRP: Undertaking illegal activities in or around police stations, engaging in illegal acts within Green Zones, incorrectly roleplaying injuries, and using out-of-character communication to influence police responses are all forms of FailRP, military RP, Armored vehicles/bullet proof tires.
13. Preserving the Integrity of Character Creation
Character creation should be inventive and avoid real-life celebrity references, pop culture names, or famous characters.
14. Curbing Scamming and Duplication
Scamming players out of significant sums of money or property is disallowed. This rule extends to raffles or lotteries that don't fulfill their promises. Money exchanges related to bets or verbal agreements are exempt.
15. Observing Realistic Gameplay Physics
Abusing the GTA physics system, including unrealistically driving off buildings or using vehicles in over-the-top ways, is against community guidelines.
16. Avoiding Exploiting Game Systems
Exploiting game mechanics, like AFK time farming, or mod usage for an advantage, is strictly prohibited and may lead to permanent bans.
17. Navigating Water Escapes
Evading law enforcement through water is allowed with specific conditions, such as wearing scuba gear or having a sea vessel nearby.
18. Balancing Group Dynamics
Criminal activities are limited to groups of up to 3 individuals. Exceptions include gang wars, gang activities, and self-defense against unlawful aggression.
Remember, these guidelines are in place to foster a positive, immersive, and enjoyable roleplay experience for everyone within our community.
