Transportation

  • Airports

Below is a list of airports that are close to New Haven, together with some information on how to commute between New Haven and these airports.

  • Hartford Bradley (BDL): an uber ride from BDL to New Haven is about one hour. One can also take an uber ride to the Hartford Union Station and then take the Hartford line train to New Haven.

  • New York LaGuardia (LGA): an uber ride from LGA to New Haven is about two hours. One can also take an uber ride to the Harlem-125th Station in New York and then take the Metro-North train to New Haven.

  • Newark (EWR): There is an Amtrak train line (see below) that connects EWR and New Haven.

  • New York JFK (JFK): one can take an uber or use the New York subway system to get to the Grand Central Terminal and then take the Metro-North train to New Haven.

  • Connecticut Limo and Go Airport Shuttle also provide shuttle services to all the airports listed above.

  • Train

    • The New Haven Line of Metro-North (run by MTA) goes from Grand Central Terminal to New Haven Union Station. The train ride is about 2.5 hours.

    • Among the few Amtrak lines going through New Haven Union Station, both the Acela Line and the Northeast Regional connect New Haven to several big cities in the Northeast, including Washington D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, Newark, New York City (Penn Station), Providence, and Boston.

  • Bus

    • Several bus companies, such as Coach USA, Greyhound, Megabus, and Peter Pan, also provide services between New Haven and major cities in the Northeast region.

There are two wifi options available on the Yale campus:

  • Yale Guest (no password required)

  • eduroam (for people with eduroam access through their home institution)

LOM (Leet Oliver Memorial Hall) is located at 12 Hillhouse Ave and is next to Davies auditorium.

Covid-related information

  • All conference participants must complete the attestation form prior to coming to campus: Online Survey Software | Qualtrics Survey Solutions.

  • All conference participants are required to carry proof of vaccination/booster.

  • The organizers encourage all participants to take a Covid test prior to arrival.

  • The organizers plan to make KN-95 masks to be available to the participants.

  • The organizers have purchased some rapid covid tests. If during the conference a participant is experiencing Covid symptoms, they are strongly encouraged to

Building Access

Currently, to enter Yale buildings, one needs to have a Yale ID. We will position student volunteers at the entrance closest to the lecture hall, Davies auditorium. They will be wearing a badge and, generally, will be sitting right outside the entrance door. Please ask them to let you in.
