Located in New Paltz, New York, the Cross River Combo Field Hockey Club reaches participants from 1st grade to Adult. The club offers opportunities for recreation, development, and showcasing at college recruitment tournaments. Our mission is to continue to develop and grow the game in the Hudson Valley and foster an environment where athletes can thrive in the sport of field hockey.
The Cross River Combo field hockey club trains at SUNY New Paltz throughout the summer, fall, and offers indoor sessions as well. We train on the North Turf field and have boards for our indoor court sessions.
In 2005, Nanette Simione and Richard Meilinger (Long Time successful Pine Plains Coach) formed a small club with a mere 17 player squad from Rondout Valley and Pine Plains, for the purpose of attending The National Hockey Festival. The team won their pool that year and were given automatic entry into the 2006 National Hockey Festival. The club grew each year, adding more players from the mid-Hudson Valley. The club has continued to grow as Sara Knickerbocker (formerly Woodward who was a CRC team member for 3 years) took over as the Director in the spring of 2016, preparing for the teams entry into Winter Escape in January of 2017. The club now serves age groups from U12 through U19, as well as an adult summer league.
