After COVID! Let's see how it goes this year - 2026 ==>>
Here we would like to showcase the yearly activities of past and present pilgrims, or what they are up to outside of the pilgrimage.
Please submit any acitvities that you know past or present pilgrims have participated in, to CofVPilgrimage@gmail.com .
The LeGree Family !
The LeGree family raised their now adult children on this Cross of Victory Pilgrimage, and for at least since 2009, and most definitely before that, have been the core of this pilgrimage, with Diana leading the prayers with Marie from the Divine Mercy Pilgrimage, and Keith being the backbone of the trucks and kitchen, at least for the Cross of Victory Pilgrimage, if not a key part of the logistics for the Divine Mercy Pilgrimage, under the leadership of Paulette. Nick LeGree is now a very much appreciated leader, with a lifetime of experience on this pilgrimage. The legend continues, so we could use more facts, and this collection of facts should be done soon, as this pilgrimage with the Divine Mercy Pilgrimage has continued for more than 30 years.
Special mention should be given to Rich Johnston and Stella DeSouza, with Rich driving the chase van and Stella helping to lead the prayers and music.
From Hanover, The Mustard Seeds were a band of church youth group members that joined us in 2010 and other years with their music and youthfulness.

Christl Towler
Christl Towler knew about the walking pilgrimage to Martyrs' Shrine since it began in the 1980's, but she was unable to attend until her family grew up, so she did not attempt to attend until 2001. Unforeseen circumstances prevented her from participating that year. The first year she attended was 2002, and up to 2005 she attended on weekends since she could not get the whole week off of work. She has completed the entire week long pilgrimage every year since then.Christl is very involved with the Campaign Life Coalition, as well as Development and Peace, and is both a Catholic Women's League member and a choir member at St. John the Baptist Parish in Burlington. "I am also with: '40 Days Days for Life,' 'Halton Alive' (former Halton Pro Life) and attend the 'March for Life in Ottawa.' "
Ultimately though, when asked, Christl will give her original reason for participating in the pilgrimage for these many years as being " I just wanted to walk." But now, "The reason for going on pilgrimage has changed. I still like the walking but now I am really looking forward to it all year for spiritual reasons, for the time to pray, to reflect, to enjoy the company of joyful, faith-filled pilgrims who return every year, and to learn from them.
