2nd Revised: CfP for CROSSMMLA LAK22

ABSTRACT CFP

We are delighted to announce that the CROSSMMLA & SLE workshop will be held online on March 21, 2022, in conjunction with the LAK 2022 conference.

The workshop will serve as a forum to exchange ideas on how we as a community can use knowledge and experiences from CrossMMLA (Multimodal Learning Analytics Across Spaces) to design new tools to analyse evidence from multimodal data and Smart Learning Environments (SLE). CrossMMLA relies on analysing multiple sources of data collected in a virtual or physical space or in a combination of spaces (e.g. hybrid scenarios or sequences of activities occurring in different scenarios). In addition, we are interested in how we can extract meaning from these increasingly fluid and complex data coming from other kinds of transformative learning situations and how best to provide feedback on the results of these analyses to support those learning processes meaningfully.

The workshop aims to discuss the main issues to further research, development, and implementation with SLE and how these overlap with MMLA. In addition, how SLE research and practice can utilise the latest advances in MMLA. Contributions from the following topics are welcome (but not limited):

Ethics-driven LA for SLEs

Human-centred MMLA and SLEs

Personalization for data-driven interventions

New IoT scenarios for MMLA and SLEs

Multimodal and across-spaces data approaches for SLEs

Theoretical foundations for the design and evaluation of SLE considering learners' needs and motivation

Visualisation techniques and Multimodal interfaces to provide feedback to learners and teachers

Please check the workshop website for more information about topics and expected contributions: https://sites.google.com/view/crossmmla/home

Submission guidelines

We invite you to submit an extended abstract (1 to 2 pages) in the CEUR-ART template that presents your ongoing MMLA and SLE empirical and theoretical works around the topics above. The abstracts will not be published. You are still welcome to submit a full CEUR paper see below:

https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=crossmmla22

Each of the submitted manuscripts will be reviewed by at least two members of the Workshop Program Committee. The submissions will be grouped into themes, and for the workshop, we will spend some time further developing the themes between MMLA and SLEs. The workshop's aim is for a community to find areas for collaborations across technologies, methods, theories, and best practices.

Submission guidelines

We invite you to submit your original work for presentation and discussion. The submissions need to be between 5 and 7 pages long formatted using the 1-column style CEUR-ART template. All manuscripts should be carefully blinded for review before submitting them using the EasyChair system - https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=crossmmla22

Each of the submitted manuscripts will be reviewed by at least two members of the Workshop Program Committee. The workshop organizers, as experts in both SLEs and LA, will do meta-reviews and make the final decisions on acceptance. The accepted papers will be published in CROSSMMLA & SLE Workshop Proceedings.

We look forward to your contributions to the CROSSMMLA & SLE workshop.

With best wishes,
