Colin Pinney, at the young age of 103 years, played the role of Howard. He is Andrew and Pippa's curious and nosey neighbour who loves butterscotch. He is also Mason's tolerant uncle. Colin Pinney starred in Episodes 1, 4, 6, 9 & 15. Hit the playlist to watch the episodes.
Profile: Colin played in weekly repertory before training at RADA and directed plays both here and in America. He was a member of the BBC Radio Drama Company and his television appearances include Jeeves and Wooster, The Brittas Empire and The Bill. He was co-author of the English version of Mazeppa, presented at the London Coliseum. He founded Marchurst Productions, creating shows which brought to life characters of History Literature and Romance; in previous years they have included Beatrix Potter, Yeats and Maud Gonne and Wordsworth. Sadly our beloved Colin Pinney passed away in February 2025. We all miss him very much. ♥️
Edmund Dehn plays the role of Andrew/Drew. His character is leading a double life. He is Bridgeley's emotionally challenging 'villain' who manipulates his wife, Pippa and continues his love affair with Ruth by lying incessantly. Profile: Edmund Dehn played Lear in the contemporary web-series ‘Lear Alone’ (OnComm Winner Best Series 2022). He was also Lear in the one man show adaptation, Edinburgh Festival 2023. His most recent appearance was as James Tyrone in ‘Long Day’s Journey into Night’ for Elysium TC in May 2026.
In recent years Edmund has filmed ‘Everything Now’ (Left Bank Pictures, NetFlix), ‘The Curse’ (Channel 4), ‘Say Nothing’ (FX Disney) & ‘The Jingle Bell Heist’ (Golden Birch). Previous TV / Film credits include, ‘State of Happiness’ - aka Lykkeland (2022), ’Vesper’ (2022), ‘The Containment’ (2018), ‘10%er’s’, ‘Brothers of War’, ‘Lovelorn’, ‘Speer Und Er’ and ‘Knightmare’. Edmund also played the title role in ‘The Judge Minty Fan Film’ (over 1 million views on YouTube).
Stage credits include: Ernest Hemingway in ‘Death of a Hunter’, Prospero in ‘The Tempest’, Job in ‘The Book of Job’, Becket in ‘Murder in the Cathedral’, MacHeath in ‘Beggars Opera’, Coriolanus in ‘Coriolanus’, Subtle in ‘The Alchemist’, Judge Brack in ‘Hedda Gabler’ and Krapp in ‘Krapp’s Last Tape’. He has also played Winston Churchill, Stalin, Enoch Powell and Charles Laughton. He is also successful voice actor for commercials, games and audio books and the sole reader on the unabridged Gormenghast Trilogy.
Paul Uhler
Paul Uhler plays the role of Mason, Howard's American nephew. He is a filmmaker who believes he is going to be a millionaire any day now. He is temporarily staying with his Uncle Howard as he's not the 'rent paying' type. Paul Uhler starred in Episodes 5, 10, 11, 15, 17 & 18. Hit the playlist to watch the episodes.
Profile: Paul is an award-winning actor bringing decades of classical stage training to the role of Mason. A veteran of over 100 theatre productions—from Shakespeare to Ibsen to Stoppard—he has also appeared in numerous independent films in lead and principal roles. Paul now channels that commanding presence into Tasmin Jahan's 'Crossing The Line' as Uncle Howard's obnoxious but funny American nephew who disrupts the British locals of Bridgeley, England.
Samantha Parry
Samantha Parry plays the role of Angelina. She is Harry's girlfriend. She works at the Bridgeley Brewery. Ruth is her boss. She is a loyal and caring employee. She's also quite outspoken when it comes to the matters of the heart. She always wants to do the right thing. But will she do the right thing when it comes to Harry's proposal? Profile: Samantha Parry completed a BA and MA in Theatre at Trinity College, Carmarthen and then spent two seasons with Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory, starting out on the box office and ending up on stage. She then studied at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School completing a two year Acting course.
Dawson James
Dawson James plays the role of James, Andrew and Pippa's son. He was travelling around Asia until he found out about his parents' living arrangements because of their stressful relationship. Pippa regularly keeps in touch with James whereas Andrew would prefer not to. James is determined to protect and look after his Mum. This proves challenging for Andrew/Drew who is trying his best not to involve the kids (James and Isabel). Dawson James starred in Episodes 10 & 20. Hit the playlist to watch the episodes.
Profile: Dawson won a scholarship to train as a screen actor in Sydney. He went on to work with Andy Serkis at The Imaginarium as a performance capture artist, as well as with Epic Games and others. He's appeared on BBC television and continues his training to further his screen career.
Mary Piercy plays the role of Ruth, Andrew/Drew's girlfriend. She is in charge of the local Bridgeley Brewery. She is close friends with Sara. Profile: Mary has played many leading roles in repertory theatre and her experience spans the gamut of Music Hall and Pantomime to Shakespeare and Ibsen. At the Edinburgh Fringe Festivals she took the title role in “Stevie” by Hugh Whitmore, a new play by Katy Hounsell Robert “ Look What They’ve Done To My Play Ma” and her one woman show “Not Just Anybody’s Mistress (script by Katy Hounsell Robert). Recently, she has been in the recording studios taking the main part in Henry Dawe’s radio play “The Autumn of my Years” which has been aired by several local radio stations. Last year she took part in Henry Dawe’s recorded tribute for Judy Dench’s 90th Birthday. Over the years she has been in many play readings with Actors and Writers London.
Kenneth Michaels plays the role of Roger. Valerie's henpecked but hilarious husband who has a sausage roll fetish. Roger and Valerie are Howard's neighbours. Profile: Kenneth trained at Manchester University and The Drama Studio London. Extensive repertory and touring experience - both as actor and director, in the UK and throughout Europe, several times for the British Council. Also, West End fringe. He has taught at several Drama schools and was the Director of Watermans Youth Theatre in Brentford for many years. He has regularly recorded for BBC R4 and R3 – spoken word - and Radio Maria London and has also recorded over 500 medical information tapes for the NHS and The College of Health. He has many TV credits and has worked on countless training films and student films.
He is Chair of the premiere script-reading organisation for professional actors in the capital – Actors and Writers London and also Secretary of the actors’ charity CaAPA.
He is a reader for InterAct, the stroke support charity.
Annie Rutter plays the role of Sara. She disapproves of Ruth and Andrew/Drew's affair. Ruth is her close friend. Sara cannot stand the sight of Andrew/Drew. Even before she finds out who he actually is, her feisty and forthright tone provokes Andrew/Drew on more than one occasion. Profile: Originally trained as an illustrator. Entered acting profession as Acting ASM at Leatherhead Theatre. Subsequently played seasons at Cheltenham, Birmingham, Lancaster, York, and both Dublin and Edinburgh Festivals. From 1970 onwards toured with husband Malcolm Taylor’s production of Dylan Thomas’s ‘Under Milk Wood’, including a date in Birmingham Alabama! in the last production in 2009 at the Tricycle Theatre. Her long television career covers episodes of ‘The Avengers’,’Softly, Softly’,’Z cars’,’The Doctors’, the puppet show “Pipkins’,’Miss Marple ‘The Body in the Library ’, ’Casualty’,’Still Open All Hours,’and, perhaps most notoriously, from 1976 to 1978, as downtrodden Muriel Baines in ‘Crossroads’! In 2014, she wrote “Dylan’s Daughter’, an affectionate tribute to her friend Aeronwy Thomas, daughter of Dylan, who died in 2009, and, in 2015, took the production to the Edinburgh Festival. Her last stage appearance was in July 2026 in ‘The Dasslers’ at the Bridewell Theatre.
Peter Saracen plays the role of Harry. He is Angelina's kind and considerate boyfriend. Angelina is the love of his life and he does not hesitate to make an honest woman out of her but Angelina's priorities are not the same as Harry's. Peter Saracen starred in Episodes 3, 7, 8, 12 & 14. Profile: Peter studied drama at Aberystwyth University and went on to perform in a wide variety of plays, the first after graduation being an open air Romeo & Juliet in Oxford. Work in the past twelve months includes a supernatural lift man in "Fatal Floor", a homeless man in "Starfish", the ghost of Jacob Marley in "Christmas Carol" and Canon Chasuble in "The Importance of Being Earnest".
Peter was nominated for 'Best Actor' for London Pub Theatres in "Short Memory", as a retired stockbroker contracting Alzheimers. Screen highlights include "Much Ado", an updated Shakespeare comedy as Leonato, (Best Film-London Independent Film Festival) and a credited singing beggar in director Tom Hooper's Musical feature, "Les Miserables".
Harry Saks plays the role of Sara's kind, caring but frugal husband. He is Howard's other nephew. Howard sees him like his own son. Harry cannot stand his cousin, Mason, especially when he flirts with his wife! Harry Saks starred in Episodes 5, 13 & 15. Hit the playlist to watch the episodes.
Profile: Harry trained for the stage at RADA and has a body of work in acting, directing and writing spanning several decades. As an actor he has performed at many London theatres including The Royal Court, ICA, Soho Theatre and Fortune Theatre and throughout the UK notably the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield, Theatre in-the-round Stoke-on-Trent, Oxford Playhouse and Liverpool Playhouse.
On television he has had guest roles in such series as The Tudors, Silent Witness, Bramwell, EastEnders, The Bill, and many more stretching right back to Man About the House and Z Cars. He recently appeared in the drama Britney for the BBC and a film for the Criminal Justice System.
Latest directing work: A Rude Awokening at the White Bear theatre, his own play The Jess Docker Show at Pentameters theatre, Hampstead and The Tailors Last Stand at the Barons Court Theatre.
Hilary Field plays the role of Valerie, Roger's domineering, vociferous and sausage roll obsessed wife. They are Howard's neighbours. Lynn Strugnell plays the role of Anna, the sassy but comical village store assistant. With her least desirable customer service skills, one would think twice about stepping into the store. However, given her challenging customer, the ex-councillor, Lizzie, Anna has her work cut out. Her amusing impression of Lizzie is brilliant! Pity Lizzie didn't get to see it! Profile: Lynn studied Drama then taught Theatre Studies. I performed in plays and produced a few myself. I currently help run a play reading group PAWS that formed online during the pandemic. I also read with the Sunday Shakespeare Society and AWL.
Alison Whiteoak plays the role of Ruth's cousin, Lizzie. She is the hardworking but boastful ex-councillor who wholeheartedly supports Ruth's love affair with Andrew/Drew. She also lives next door to Pippa's parents' house and enjoys eavesdropping. Alison Whiteoak starred in Episodes 19 & 20. Hit the playlist to watch the episodes.
Profile: Alison loves acting. She spent 30 years acting for her students every day in the classroom, after post graduate time at Bretton Hall. Theatre work has included the musical 'The day we played Brazil', which ran for 14 nights at the Northcott in Exeter and 'Happy birthday Hetty' which toured Devon, England.
Alison was delighted to be asked to join the illustrious cast of Tasmin Jahan's wonderful 'Crossing The Line' soap opera, tackling the role of Lizzie, the ex-councillor who believes she and Ruth are like two peas in a pod and she has no trouble handling Anna, the sassy village store assistant.

The Writer
The sole writer and director of 'Crossing The Line'. In addition to writing this British soap opera, she has written over 500 plays (short and full length). The hardest but delightfully rewarding writing challenge was the '365 plays in 365 days' project.
Three of her full length original plays: 'The Root of all Evil; 'A Stinging Affair' & 'Stinging Filth and Bloody Hands' are currently part of some Ivy League university library catalogues and in Library of Congress(USA). Copies are also part of some UK Russell Group university library collections and some Canadian libraries have copies too.
Many of her plays have been performed at home and overseas. Fantastic collaborations with The Oast Theatre, Hazlitt Theatre and Out of Bounds Theatre in the UK; Fierce Backbone Theater of Los Angeles; The Inkwell Theater of Los Angeles; Permafrost Theatre Collective of New York; The Ubiquitous Players of Chicago; Drama With Friends of San Francisco; The Theater Company of Saugus in Massachusetts and countless readings of other plays reaching as far as Hong Kong plus Indie film screening events (NoSN) in Hollywood hosted by the sensational Eric Toms.
Acting: Copenhagen Theatre Circle in Denmark. Also organiser and host of exclusive transatlantic play reading sessions.
The Musician
Not only is Paul Uhler a superb actor - as I'm sure you have been watching him play the role of Mason in 'Crossing The Line' - he is also the great composer behind our 'Crossing The Line' opening and closing credits. The Season 2 theme music will be composed by Paul as well. I am very grateful to Paul for his time and dedication to composing this piece exclusively for 'Crossing The Line'. The co-Editor
Amanda was first approached to do some editing for 'Crossing The Line'. She also suggested a radio drama version of 'Crossing The Line' which we will certainly explore in the future. A few episodes then snowballed into a series/Season 1. Amanda was very kind to help with the editing given her very busy schedule. I am very grateful for her time and efforts in developing some of the original episodes.
Profile: Amanda trained to be an actor at The Bridge Theatre Training Company. She is also a teacher and director, with an MA in Theatre & Contemporary Practice (University of Hull), BA (Hons) in Theatre Arts & English (University of Exeter), and PGCE in English with Drama (University of Sussex). She has passed APC's Basic exams in Stage Combat for Unarmed, Rapier, Rapier with Companion Weapon, and Knife, and is a trained mezzo soprano/alto singer. She also completed a three day accent workshop with Yvonne Morley.
She founded her own professional theatre company called Hog in the Limelight Productions. alongside Michael McManus. Known for innovative stage and digital work, the company famously produced a series of live-streamed Zoom productions during the 2020 pandemic lockdowns.
Chief Editor
Terry is a very kind, generous and down to earth editor. With his cool and calm approach, the editing of each 'Crossing The Line' episode, he met every single deadline despite his extremely busy schedule. We cannot thank him enough for his hard work and close attention to completing each Season 1 episode.
Profile: Terry is an actor, filmmaker, editor and creative media developer whose work combines performance, storytelling and digital production. He is the founder and Creative Director of Film & Stage Media Group, an international performing-arts media platform dedicated to connecting and championing creative talent worldwide.
Terry has been a member of the 'Crossing The Line' creative team since Season One, working closely with Tasmin Jahan to edit and help shape the series for the screen. He is delighted to be expanding his involvement in Season Two, when he will step in front of the camera as a member of the cast as well as continuing to contribute creatively behind the scenes.
Originally from Nottingham and later based in London, Terry now lives in Florida with his husband, Reed. His professional background spans information technology, healthcare, media development and entrepreneurship, bringing a broad range of experience—and a genuine love of collaborative storytelling—to every production.
