Brandi Killough is the director of bands at Crosby Middle School. She is in her 29th year of teaching, and currently in her 9th year at Crosby ISD. At Crosby Middle School, Mrs. Killough directs the Symphonic Band, Cadet Band, as well as the beginning flute, oboe, and clarinet classes. Before joining the team in Crosby, she spent 17 years in Galena Park ISD. Mrs. Killough is a graduate from Stephen F. Austin State University, where she received both her Bachelor of Music and Master of Arts degrees.
Mrs. Killough’s bands have been consistent recipients of UIL Sweepstakes Awards as well as winning a major grant from the Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation. She enjoys working as a clinician with schools and Region Bands in the area as well as teaching summer band camps at SFASU and San Jacinto Community College North.
Mrs. Killough’s affiliations include the Texas Music Educator’s Association (TMEA), Texas Music Adjudicator’s Association (TMAA), and Texas Bandmasters Association (TBA). Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Jay, and daughters, Taylor and Allie.
Justin Wood is the Assistant Band Director at Crosby Middle School. He is currently in his 7th year of teaching and 6th year in Crosby ISD. He teaches the Concert Band, 6th grade Trumpet, Tuba, Trombone, and French Horn classes and assists with the Cadet band and Symphonic band.
Mr. Wood is a proud graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University where he received both Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees. He spent 5 years teaching as an Adjunct Faculty member at Stephen F. Austin State University and as a private lesson instructor for numerous school districts in the Houston area.
Mr. Wood’s affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Bandmasters Association. When Mr. Wood is not teaching, he enjoys going to the Houston Symphony, playing golf and disc golf, reading, watching movies, and spending time with his wife, who is also a band director, his son Luca, and their two cats Ella and Louis. Mr. Wood is very excited to be a part of the Crosby band team!
Zachary Sanchez is the Assistant Director of Band for Crosby High School. In this teaching role, he works with the high school Concert and Symphonic Bands, the Marching Big Red Machine, assists with the middle school concerts bands, and teaches 6th grade Percussion, Saxophone, and Euphonium.
Mr. Sanchez joined the Crosby Band Department in 2021. Since then, with his help and dedication, the band program has continued to flourish and grow. Mr. Sanchez is a proud graduate of the University of North Texas, where he earned the Bachelor of Music Education degree. While attending college, he was a proud member of the UNT Green Brigade Marching Band as well as numerous performing concert ensembles. Mr. Sanchez holds memberships in the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Bandmasters Association, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
