Course Description

In this course, students will explore concepts of nature largely from the latter third of the nineteenth century to the present. We will approach this subject matter through discussion, lecture, writing, and reading. Students will investigate the economic, social, intellectual, and cultural aspects within the evolving relationship between human beings and nature. Students will be introduced to the key themes, events, and personalities that help understand the American environment.
