Welcome ceremony

The second Erasmus+ mobility took place at Borovje Primary School in Zagreb, in the week of October 10.

We hosted guests from Italy, Romania and Turkey. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 pandemic, students and teachers from Hungary and students from Turkey were not able to join us.

Meeting

After the opening ceremony and the school tour, students and teachers attended the meeting where they presented their schools and the cities they come from.

The second task was to present Google applications that students use for learning, communication with other students and teachers, and list their advantages and disadvantages.

WORKSHOPS

Google Classroom, Canva and Google Site

The first workshop took place in our IT classroom. Teacher Vlatka Gabud Deronjić spoke about the use of the Google Classroom app at our school. Erasmus+ Class was created for all mobility participants, to which they can add comments, questions, write their impressions and upload photos and videos during the mobility week.

Ms Gabud Deronjić also introduced students to Canva, a simple app used for making presentations, posters, flyers, etc. Students created their Canva accounts and tried out the tool. During and after this mobility, students will create a joint Canva presentation about their stay in Croatia.

In the second workshop, students learned how to create and edit a Google Site. Teacher Željka Zagorac walked them through the Google Site of the project and explained which parts they can edit. For this task, each country will select 1-2 students who will be responsible for editing the content while the other students will prepare materials for publication.

Croatian Language Course

The next workshop was a short Croatian language course led by teachers Tanja Bregeš and Tanja Bogdanić. They prepared a PowerPoint presentation and worksheets containing some common Croatian phrases and expressions. They also gave our guests the opportunity to teach Croatian students the same expressions in their own language. At the end of the workshop, students tested their knowledge by taking a fun quiz created in Quizizz app. The response to the workshop was overwhelmingly positive among both our guests and our students.

Upcycling

The last workshop was focused on sustainable development and the creative potential of new technologies. Teacher Silvana Pešut Vitasović introduced the participants to upcycling (creative reuse). She held the workshop in cooperation with partners from the Institute of Entrepreneurial Education and Innovation (POI) and FabLab Croatia. Workshop participants designed motifs that they printed on canvas bags. Previously, they digitized and vectorized their drawings using the

Silhouette Curio program.

In the second part of the workshop, they were introduced to 3D printing using PLA plastic made of corn, which is degradable. They printed out small green pine trees that are part of our school logo.
