Dec 7th and 9th Annual Home & Home with Cottonwood. The CRMC was up 67.5 to 37.5 after day 1 played at Coyote Run. We lost day 2 played at Cottonwood 57-48 but CRMC won the overall event 115.5 to 94.5. Nov 13/15/16 2023 Annual President's Cup tournament consisted of 8 16-man flights where flight winner 2-man partner teams won all of their 3 matches. It was the first year of the new best ball 2-man partner format. The popularity of the event was depicted by the large player participation of 124 players. For details see overall results, scoreboard, flight winner picture and KPs summary

Sept 21st, 25 members played in the 2nd summer 2-man total net major event. It used the same format at the 3-day January Member-Member event with a Scramble on holes 1-6, Alt Shot holed 7-12, and BB Net holes 13-18. The CRMC added $250 to the pro-shop payout. 1st flight winners were Dan Callahan and Joe Fitzpatrick (their 63 was totally awesome) and 2nd flight winners Barry Tacheri and Jerry Will.   Refer to overall results, and scoreboard that includes Joe and Barry pointing to their 2-man winning scores.  The flight-1 81 score received a bit of golfer lounge discussion as it clearly stood out from the others.

Sept 7th, 2nd HorseRace of the Summer:  15 players participated in the 9-hole event starting on the 1st hole at 7AM including optional win-place-show wagers.  Mark Pettay's winning horserace ways came to end when he went out on the 4th hole with a bogie.  Phillips, Young and Fitzpatrick stood on the 8th tee viaing for the top 3 spots.  Fitz got 3rd when he missed a short putt on the 8th green.  After Phillips and Young both birdied the 9th hole (really the 10th hole due to 9th hole maintenance), Phillips narrowly won the chip-ofF and 1st place. See horserace results.

Aug 1st, An appreciation lunch was held to thank the grounds crew for their fine efforts in maintaining our golf courses. The lunch was provided by 3 of our Coyote Run Green Stewards (Bob Scheuneman, John Fleming, and Steve Elliott) and sponsored by the CRMC. Duffy and members of the grounds crew appreciated the 9AM event. See Picture.

July 20th 17 golfers participated in golf shop officiated 9-hole HorseRace event won by Mark Pettay, with Dan Callahan (2nd) and (Arkansa) Joe Moltz(3rd).  Amazingly, Mark has won 2 of the 3 summer horseraces held so far. The 13th hole was interesting when Dan carrying a +1 handicap made a 20ft birdie putt to tie the other 10 golfers that par'ed the hole forcing a 11-way chip off to determine which 2 people would drop out.  See picture of people first putting balls closest to the 10th hole while Steve patiently waits his turn on the back of the green.

May 25th 26 members played in the 1st summer 2-man total net major event.  1st flight winners were Billy Taylor and Jeff (Buffy) Buffmyer and 2nd flight winners were Joe Moltz and Mike Perrault. Refer to overall results, pictures of 1st place and 2nd place winners, and scoreboard.

April 6th 40 players participated in the 2-manpartner Horserace event. The 1st annual event was exciting when people walking or riding on golf carts watched the event unfold and see the winning team of J. Fitzpatrick and B.Applegren edge out the team of P. Johnson and R. Spooner on the 9th hole. Since the teams each parred #9, a chip off was needed to break the tie. Third place went to B. Young and R. Kemp.

March 16th, Since no CRMC member had a hole-in-one since Aug/22', it was crazy that two members had a Coyote Run ace on 3-16-23. One of the players purchased hole-in-one that very morning. See the hole-in-one tab for details.

March 6th, 8th & 9th. The annual 3-day Club Championship tournament was held when 90 members participated in the 6 flights.  Rich Phillips won the overall championship narrowing beating Phil Pendorf by 2 strokes with a total score of 227. Al Read of the 2nd flight was close with score of 230. Since Rich has won the championship more than 5 times, he was appropriately declared the CRMC GOAT by our weekly tournament scribe. Two highlights of the event were Jeff Biddle winning a KP on each of the 3-days and Steve Elliott winning a golf bag at the awards dinner soon after switching tickets.  See Tournament flight payouts and scoreboard

Feb 9th & 10th/2023, The annual CRMC Member/Guest tournament was held when 72 member/guest 2-man teams participated in the afternoon events. The 1st day was best net ball and the 2nd day was combined net scores.  With no option to pick-up ball after a net double bogie, the second day was particularly challenging. Players able to advert sand-traps, out-of-bounds, and water hazards likely had the lower net scores. Flight winners are Goeden & Delozier (214) in flight 1, Will & Cardenas (209) in flight 2, Weiss & Hansen and Kolankowski & McGrath (218) tied in flight 3 and Caves & Gentry (212) in flight 4.  Tournament scoreboard and results.

Jan 24 & 26th/2023, The annual CRMC Home and Home match with Apache Wells when 72 players from each team participated on the two chilly and windy days. The score on the first day played at Apache was 63-42 in CRMC favor and the score on the second day was 72.5-35.5 again in Leisure World favor for an overall LW decisive victory of 177.5-77.5. It was the third LW win in a row over there community neighbor Apache Wells. Outstanding play by the Leisure World team. History of  Home & Home Matches.

Jan 9/12/13/2023 Member-Member  142 Members participated in the annual January event. The members enjoyed 3 warm and sunny days with close and exciting match play matches in all 5 flights.  Flight winners were (1) Bo Powell & J. Buffmeyer (198), (2) J. Mealey & B. Phinney (198), (3) tie between A. Mitchell & R. Schuler & M. Levenstein & G. Coole (197), (4) J. Bonjean & J. Radke (201) and (5) L. Biles & O. Peralta (199). Winner photo is not available. See tournament final results and day money. Overall scoreboard.

Dec 8 & 10/2022, The annual CRMC Home and Home match with Cottonwood when 58 players from each team participated. The score on the first day played at Coyote Run was 55.5-31.5 in CRMC favor. Evidently home field advantage applies strongly to senior golfing events since Cottonwood put the exact same butt kicking on CRMC when the event was played at their course.  For the first time, the overall score was tied at 87-87. Since Cottonwood holds the Cup, they retain it for another year with a tie.  CRMC 2-man partners received $10 golf shop credits for each of the possible 6 points. Results of the 2-man matchs.

Nov 10/14/17 2022 Annual President's Cup tournament consisted of 10 8-man flights where flight winners won all of their 3 matches. For details see overall results, scoreboard, and flight winner picture

2022 Summer Golf: Refer to the tournament tab of this site for a summary of the summer Thursday CRMC events that were held. The results of the two summer major events are: 9-22 results, 9-22 scoreboard, and 9-22 flight-1 winners with fabulous score of 62: 5-26 scoreboard and 5-26 event results summary.

Two summer HorseRace Events were also conducted. 17 golfers participated in a HorseRace event on 7-07 won by Mark Pettay, with Jay Perkins (2nd) and Jeff (Buffy) Buffmyer (3rd). It was an exciting event where many of the players that lost out joined the golf car riding spectators to watch the field evolve to a single winner.  22 people played in the 2nd HorseRace event of the summer on 9-15 won by Bob Young, with Ted Brinkman (2nd) and Mark Pettay (3rd). Thanks to Billy Taylor for promoting the summer HorseRace's that proved to be a fun even for folks that only played a few holes.

3-16-22 Congratulations to Steve Elliott for his hole#16 hole-in-one using a 6 iron.
