Flexible start times - All levels welcome - No experience required!
Welcome to the inaugural CRLS Orienteering Interscholastic Event! Come join us to learn how to navigate unfamiliar terrain using a map. This event is open to grades 6-12.
Orienteering is a navigational sport. Using a highly detailed map, participants seek to locate controls (markers) in a specific order within the course, all within the least amount of time! It involves navigational strategy and skill-building, and it's easy to get started!
Flexible start times will be offered to accommodate all participants. Upon arrival and check-in (between 3:30-5:00 pm), individuals will be offered a brief orientation training according to their experience level. Once complete, they will be free to complete the course of their choice!
3:30 pm Check-in Opens (at Picnic Table Area 2, near the Track Field)
4:00 pm Courses Open
5:00 pm Check-in Closes
6:00 pm Courses Close
Pre-registration is strongly encouraged by October 8th. We will provide maps based on pre-registration, plus a limited number of maps available for those registering onsite.
3 Course Options: The courses vary in degrees of difficulty that are suitable for all. No experience is required! Small group orientation sessions will be held on-site after check-in.
