PROTEGE is our prep (JV) show choir at Kennedy. Members are 9th-12th-grade treble clef singers in Kennedy Chorale. Students selected for membership are required to attend all rehearsals and performances, travel to all competitions and festivals, and purchase or rent performance uniform.  Emphasis is placed on becoming a total performer – both aural and visual aspects are stressed.  Protege is directed by Mrs. Ann Brunson. Membership in Kennedy Chorale and an audition are required for enrollment.

HAPPINESS, INC. is the flagship, varsity level show choir at Kennedy High School. Formed with the opening of Kennedy in the fall of 1967, it is the oldest show choir west of the Mississippi River. Happiness participates in a full schedule of holiday and spring appearances, performing for school events and competing in show choir events throughout Iowa and the midwest. The group is directed by Luigi Enriquez and choreographed by Lexi Robson Buglewicz and Randy Sage. Membership in Concert Choir and an audition are required for enrollment.

Both show choirs also accompanied by a full show band and supported by a wonderful stage crew.
