Faced with both the challenges and opportunities of this time of pandemic, our school is committed to making all our important decisions with the double priority of both success in work, study, and school life, and the health and safety of everyone in our Cristo Rey Jesuit High School family.
Please continue to follow this page for official information, regular updates, and important resources related to our school operations for Academic Year 2021-22.
Face Masks Required
Due to the increase in the Delta variant, Cristo Rey Jesuit High School-Twin Cities will continue an indoor mask mandate. All students, regardless of vaccine status, will be required to wear a face mask when inside the school building. The only exception will be when eating lunch. The school continues to ask parents to get their children vaccinated as that is the most effective way to stop the spread of this virus. If your student has been vaccinated and you have not yet submitted a copy of the student's vaccine card, please email a photo of the vaccination card to our Student Wellness Coordinator, Ms. Franco, at kathrynfranco@cristoreytc.org.
If Your Student is Sick
If your student is sick, keep your student home from school and report the student's absence to the school by 7:30 am by emailing angelleon@cristoreytc.org or calling 612-545-9700. If your student is showing two or more symptoms of COVID-19, keep your student home and have your student tested. Your student may return back to school after producing a negative COVID test result. Please inform the school immediately, after receiving your COVID result at kathrynfranco@cristoreytc.org.
COVID Protocol - Exposure to COVID-19
If your student has been in close proximity to a student who tests positive, you will be contacted by the school with the following instructions:
If your child is unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, your child needs to be tested for COVID-19 immediately. If your child tests positive, your child must quarantine at home for 14 days before returning to school. If the test is negative, your student should quarantine at home for 14 days and can return to school after that time if your child has no symptoms of COVID-19. After the 10 days have passed, they can take a COVID test and only return back to school once they have produced a negative test result and show no symptoms
If your child is fully vaccinated and your child has no symptoms, your child does not need to quarantine at home following an exposure and can continue to attend school in person and participate in other activities. The CDC recommends that your child still be tested 3-5 days after exposure. The test results should be sent to Ms. Franco at kathrynfranco@cristoreytc.org.
If your child is in quarantine, the Dean of your student's grade will be in contact with you to ensure that they keep up with their studies.
Dean Martinez (9th and 10th Grade Dean)
Dean Mooney ( 11th and 12th Grade Dean)
If you do not hear from the school, then your child has not been exposed. Your child can continue to attend school and does not need to be tested.
Notify the Clinic if Your Student Has Received the COVID Vaccine
We have decided that to further prevent the spread of COVID-19 students, all students should take the necessary steps to be fully vaccinated by Friday, November 19th. Proof of vaccination should be provided to the Wellness Coordinator, Ms. Kathryn Franco.
If you are not fully vaccinated and would like support finding a clinic to receive your vaccination, please contact Kathryn Franco in the Wellness office. You can arrange to receive your first and second dose of the vaccine at a clinic hosted at Cristo Rey on October 1st & October 21st. Watch your email for more information about scheduling and appointments.
If you are not fully vaccinated, you will be required to take a COVID-19 test each week beginning the week of October 4th. You will be scheduled to test once a week from 7:30AM-8:30AM or during your Flex period.
To fully participate in school events, activities and CWSP, students must be fully vaccinated or produce the results of a negative COVID-19 test. Please talk with your families about vaccination. Please reach out to Ms. Kathryn Franco with questions about these requirements.
Safety protocols are in effect for all students, faculty, and staff coming into the school building. Visitors are permitted at this time, however, visitors must wear a face mask at all times.
If you are a Cristo Rey Jesuit High School family in need, please email KellyFlannigan@cristoreytc.org for information and resources.
