Critter Shuffle Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 10, 2026
Critter Shuffle ("the App," "we," "us") is developed by Razvan Serban. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it's used, and your choices.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Account & Sign-In Data
Google Play Games Services: when you sign in, we receive your Google Play player ID and public Play Games profile name/avatar. This is used to sync your saved progress across devices and to show you on the Global leaderboard.
Friends Leaderboard (optional): if you grant Critter Shuffle access to your Google Play Games friends list, we read that list to find which of your friends also play Critter Shuffle, and receive their public Play Games display name, avatar, and in-game level to power the Friends leaderboard tab. This access is entirely optional and can be revoked at any time (see Section 4); the App is fully playable without it.
Gameplay & Progress Data Your display name, chosen avatar, level progress, stars, coins, boosters, and purchase transaction records are stored locally on your device and, if you're signed in to Google Play Games, backed up to your Google Play Games cloud save so progress can be restored on a new device.
Purchase Data In-app purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. We receive the product ID and a purchase receipt to grant your items. We never receive or store your payment card details; Google Play handles payment directly.
Advertising Data Rewarded video ads are served through Google AdMob, which may collect your device's advertising ID and other device/usage data to select and measure ads, per Google's own privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Notifications With your permission, we schedule a local "your lives are full" reminder on your device. This is generated and delivered entirely on-device; no data is sent to us or any third party for this feature. You can turn this notification off anytime in the App's Settings screen.
Device Permissions
Vibration: used for haptic feedback during gameplay.
Notifications: used only for the lives-full reminder above.
Engine Diagnostics Critter Shuffle is built with Unity. We have disabled Unity's built-in engine analytics; Unity Technologies does not receive automatic usage or hardware data from this App.
2. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA
To save and restore your game progress.
To operate leaderboards and the Friends screen.
To process purchases and deliver purchased items.
To show rewarded ads and measure their performance.
To respond to support requests.
We do not sell your personal data for money.
3. THIRD PARTIES WE SHARE DATA WITH
Google Play Games Services / Google Play Billing / Google AdMob: see Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy
Each of these third parties processes data under its own privacy policy in addition to this one.
4. YOUR CHOICES
You can play the App without ever signing in to Google Play Games; cloud save, the Global leaderboard, and the Friends leaderboard simply won't be available.
Disconnect Friends access: revoke Critter Shuffle's access to your Google Play Games friends list at any time via your Google Account's Security > Third-party apps & services settings, or through the Play Games app itself. This stops us from reading your friends list immediately.
Ad personalization: manage this in your Android device's Google Settings > Ads (e.g., "Opt out of Ads Personalization" / "Delete advertising ID"). This is also how you exercise a CCPA "opt-out of sharing" request for ad data; see Section 6 below.
Delete your data: see Section 7 below.
5. YOUR RIGHTS UNDER GDPR / UK GDPR (EEA & UK USERS)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you.
Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
Erase your data ("right to be forgotten").
Restrict or object to certain processing.
Receive your data in a portable format.
Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent (e.g., revoking Google Play Games friends access, as described in Section 4).
Lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 11.
6. YOUR RIGHTS UNDER CCPA / CPRA (CALIFORNIA USERS)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
Know what personal information we collect, use, and share, detailed in Section 1 and Section 3.
Delete your personal information (Section 7).
Correct inaccurate personal information.
Opt out of the "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information. However, AdMob's automatic collection of advertising identifiers (see Section 1) may qualify as "sharing" under CCPA/CPRA. Opt out via your device's Android advertising settings (Section 4).
Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 11.
7. DATA DELETION
We do not operate a backend server or database of our own — your data lives only on your device and inside your own Google account. This means:
Local data (display name, avatar, progress, coins, purchase records): automatically deleted when you uninstall the App, or manually via Android Settings > Apps > Critter Shuffle > Storage > Clear Data.
Google Play Games cloud save: this is stored under your own Google Account, not on a server we control, so we have no way to delete it on your behalf. You can delete it yourself via the Play Games app (Settings > Delete Play Games account & data > Critter Shuffle > Delete) or your Google Account's Data & Privacy settings.
Google Play Games friends-list access: this permission lives on your Google Account, not on our end — revoke it anytime via your Google Account's Security > Third-party apps & services settings, or the Play Games app. We don't keep our own copy of your friends list; it's only read live each time the Friends leaderboard loads.
If you have trouble with any of the above, contact razvan.tankian@gmail.com and we'll help you through it.
8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Critter Shuffle is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13, and the App is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, contact us using the details in Section 11 and we will delete it.
9. DATA RETENTION & SECURITY
We retain gameplay and purchase data for as long as you use the App, or until you request deletion. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, but no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated Effective Date above, and where feasible, an in-app notice.
