1) Always get pre-approved before previewing homes. This is a courtesy to the seller, your agent, and yourself.
2) Be careful when signing buyer's agent agreements. Some agents will try to charge the buyers an additional fee, while their commission is actually covered by the home seller.
3) Buyers have access to a ton of information online these days. With access to the MLS, realtors are able to tell you information that is not readily available from the current and past listings.
4) Realtors have information about homes that haven’t even hit the market yet.
1) Proper grooming. Cut the grass! You would probably neatly shave before a blind date.
2) Clean. A lot. Don't go crazy to change what the home is really about with cosmetic upgrades and details. What if you went through hours at the salon to highlighting your beautiful brown hair, only to find out that your potential date prefers a more classic look? Don't waste your time and $!
3) Perfume / Cologne. Keep your home smelling fresh! Stick with neutral scents like fresh cotton but don't overdo it.
4) De-clutter. Less is more. You wouldn´t divulge your whole life story on your first date, would you? Think: Spotless and clear kitchen counters. Buyers don´t need to see your snacks or your toaster or last night´s dishes.
