Last year, I took on the role of Director for Publicity of the Philippine International Model United Nations (PHIMUN), the flagship conference of MUN-UPD. Based on my observations of the university MUN circuit, I saw room to strengthen how this conference presented itself, both creatively and administratively. With my understanding of the conference’s history and support from the rest of the executive board, I reimagined its branding in a way that respected its established identity while building upon the work of the creatives who came before me.
After a month of ideation, pitching, and consultation with fellow Executive Board members, I worked toward a visual direction that paid homage to PHIMUN’s existing identity while thoughtfully evolving it. The goal was to retain familiar elements and values, while introducing a fresher, bolder, and more professional look.
The rebrand deliberately avoided being overly minimalist or strictly two-toned or monochromatic. It needed to feel festive—without losing sight of the seriousness of the topics being discussed—and professional without becoming monotonous. Above all, the system had to be reproducible: something that the members I would onboard and delegate to in the following weeks could easily understand, apply, and sustain.
