Privacy Policy
This privacy policy applies to the CrispTone app for mobile devices (the "Application"), operated by Berner (the "Service Provider").
**The short version: CrispTone works entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, transmit or sell any of your personal data. The Application makes no network requests, contains no analytics, no advertising and no tracking technologies of any kind.**
Information Collection and Use
The Application does not collect any information. Specifically:
* The Application has no user accounts and no registration.
* The Application does not collect your IP address, device identifiers, usage statistics or any other data.
* The Application contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs and no third-party tracking technologies.
* The Application does not use cookies, pixels or similar technologies.
* The Application works fully offline and makes no network requests.
How Your Files Are Processed
CrispTone creates ringtones from audio files, videos and microphone recordings that you choose to import. All processing happens locally on your device:
* Files you import are used only to create ringtones and are stored inside the Application's private storage on your device.
* Nothing you import, record or create ever leaves your device through the Application.
* You can delete all created ringtones at any time in the Application's Settings, or by uninstalling the Application.
Device Permissions
The Application requests permissions only when you use the corresponding feature, and each permission is optional:
Microphone** — requested only if you choose to record audio with the microphone as a ringtone source. Recordings are stored locally and never transmitted.
Photos (add only) — requested only if you download a contact photo from the "Contact Photos" tab. This permission only allows the Application to save images to your photo library; it does not give access to read your photos.
* **Photo and video selection** — when you import a video from your Photos library, the Application uses the system photo picker, which shares only the specific items you select. The Application does not request or receive access to your photo library.
Third Party Access
The Service Provider does not share any data with third parties, because no data is collected in the first place. No data is sold, rented or disclosed to anyone.
Your Rights (including GDPR and CCPA/CPRA)
Because the Application does not collect or store any personal data on the Service Provider's side, there is no personal data for the Service Provider to access, correct, delete, sell or share. Opt-Out Rights
You can stop all use of the Application by uninstalling it. Since no data is ever transmitted to the Service Provider, uninstalling the Application removes all data created by it, except for files you have explicitly exported yourself (for example, ringtones saved to the Files app or images saved to your photo library), which remain under your control.
Data Retention
The Service Provider retains no user data. All ringtones and imported files exist only on your device and are retained until you delete them.
Children
The Application does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The Application contains no ads, no in-app purchases and no external links other than this policy and the terms of use.
Security
Since all data stays on your device, its security is provided by your device's built-in protections (such as your passcode, Face ID or Touch ID and iOS sandboxing).
Changes
The Service Provider may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be published on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Application after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
