Dr. Federico M. Federici - Experienced Researcher, leader of WP5, WP8, WP9

Federico M. Federici is Reader in Translation Studies at University College London. His research to date has focused on translators and interpreters as intercultural mediators, on translators working in crises, and on reception of translated text. From 2005 he has organised the ‘Translating Voices’ conference series, which focuses on the topics of minority and regional languages, with particular focus on risks, disasters and regional crises.

Dr. Emmanouela Patiniotaki - Experienced Researcher

Dr Patiniotaki is a Teaching Fellow at University College London from 2014. Her research focuses on language automation and accessibility. A graduate of the Kapodistrian University of Athens. She holds an MSc in Scientific, Technical and Medical Translation (Imperial College, London) and a PhD on Access to the Media with special focus on the satisfaction of educational needs through online environments with the provision of accessible materials on a range of technological platforms.

Dr. Khetam Al Sharou – Early Stage Researcher

Dr. Al Sharou holds an MSc in Translation and Computer Assisted Translation Tools from Heriot-Watt University. Her PhD focused on the usability of Moses MT for English-Arabic translation. Her research interests include post-editing, evaluation of machine translation, and didactics of translation technology. She previously taught at the Higher Institute of Translation and Interpreting, Damascus University and other universities in Syria, and is currently an associate lecturer of English and Arabic translation at London Centre.
