Home Office Design Trends for Lawyer

Lawyers tend to bring their work home, and it is just practical to have their own designated work spaces in their respective residences.

This was the highlight of the San Diego Defense Attorneys Association’s (SDDAA) recent member’s exhibit on best home office set ups for lawyers. Inviting top-notch interior designers and contractors serving the San Diego area, the SDDAA encouraged its members to make their own home offices more ideal and responsive to their professions.

“Having a home office is critical to every lawyer. A good working environment even inside the home can mean more time with family as we all know commutes between home and office can mean getting stuck in traffic jams and more. It also means better productivity,” explains Frank Adams, Executive Director of the SDDAA.

Forbes.com has shared an interesting article on home office designs meant to boost productivity even while telecommuting. One of the designs that they featured is that for a small nook.

“The office nook is more efficient than ever, especially now that we’re so paperless and portable. However, if you do need supplies, filing cabinets and unsightly accessories like printers, shredders and the like, it’s best to conceal them in a neat way. Built-ins that fit in with the rest of the room’s design can contain clutter and let you relax when you’re not working.”

Homeguides SF Gate also came up with advice on designing a home office for lawyers. One of their advice is to add greenery for a natural splash of color in the space. The write-up also came up with advice for lawyers who may be entertaining clients even at home. Criminal Defense Lawyer Wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criminal_defense_lawyer

“Your desk's accessories are especially important if you entertain clients, associates or a senior partner in your home office. Display a symbolic close-up print of an American bald eagle or a portion of ‘The America's Creed’: ‘established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity,’ in a stylish font mounted in a mahogany or silver-plated frame for classic, patriotic style.”

The SDDAA says investing on a good home office set up can greatly help for lawyers, as it can help boost productivity and lower stress levels.
