My materials are mainly sourced from local estate sales on Craigslist and shops on Etsy, which "have a net zero carbon emissions goal approved by a leading non-profit standard body (SBTi)".
When commissioning a custom order, all materials are interchangeable. When making pieces freestyle, I use stainless steel, silver-plated, and gold-plated wire. All nickel and lead free.
I can remake (almost) any piece I have listed to the best of my abilities- price varies based on materials in stock, some pendants/beads/jewels are truly one of a kind.
Unless I am selling you the original piece as stated in the sale, there will be slight variations due to the aforementioned circumstances. Before pieces are shipped out, photos are taken, and the piece can be altered up to five times before a $1 fee is incurred for each alteration thereafter.
Im Cricket! A 23-year-old grad from the Evergreen State College, where I obtained my BA in business. I went into college to learn the grind of the 9-5, how people interact in workspaces, and what makes a workplace successful. Spending my weekends in economics textbooks, my spring break was the start of COVID-19. My first year was pure business and economics-focused, becoming intimately acquainted with how a business can fail-- and how you just have to keep pushing, keep putting your work out there, to find your audience!
In year two, I focused on social studies and business history. Year three was science and neurology. When business stopped holding that spark for me during isolation, I went back to my roots, ART! By four, I was revisiting creative writing. (Studied practical writing in high school, Big Picture High School! Look Them Up! They prepared me for being an adult, love them! They taught me how to file my taxes and dissect animals.)
As a senior in college, I committed to art. I had lost my "teenhood" dog of five years, Bailey, during COVID. Those emotions never really settled, grief stays with you, until I started writing poetry and painting again. It's like a weight was lifted from my shoulders. I still have this business mindset all the time, of "What can you do to be better? Make more?" My mentors told me to feel my feelings, and the art was beautiful! I walk with a skip in my step, I can do art!
