How to make a website on WebNode

WebNode is an online service that allows you to create a website in a short amount of time. It is possible to make websites with a very professional look. A site created in WebNode can have many pages, it can have a blog section, guestbook, photo gallery, contact, and it can even have a discussion forum.

Free website

In each account, the user has 100 Mb and 1 Gb of transfers per month free of charge. These features will be enough for a small website. For more features the user will have to pay from $2.95 per month.

Create your

The website's domain name looks like yoursite.webnode.com. Of course you can use your own domain name www.yoursite.com and link it to your webNode account. You can also buy your own domain on WebNode, which will cost $14.95 per year, a little more expensive than buying a domain from a domain registrar (like namecheap), but it can have the advantage of making the process a little easier.

Steps to create the website

I registered on WebNode to test the service. Both registration and website creation are very simple tasks and take very little time. Here is an example of the site I created on WebNode:

As you can see I didn't add any content, but it didn't take me more than 3 minutes to do it.

To register with WebNode, you just choose the name for your website address (yoursite.webnode.com), provide your email address and choose a password.

After clicking on the button, you start the process of creating your website, which will be done in 3 steps:

1. Site Details - In this step you must choose the site type. It can be "Website" (personal site), "Business site" or "Online shop". The first option ("Website") is completely free, the other options are taxed a few days after its creation. When choosing the type of site you must fill in the requested data. There are only three fields: website title, slogan and language. Click on the button to proceed.

2. Select Template - Dozens of templates are available. Choose one of the templates by selecting it and proceed to the next step.

3. Choose the pages - In this step select the pages you want which will be created automatically. Some of the pages you can create are: "About Us", "Contact", "Photo Gallery", "Guestbook", etc. Pages that you don't create at this stage can always be created later. Click on the button to complete the process of creating your website.

After following the 3 steps above the site is created and you can edit it. The control panel for editing the website consists of a top bar that has some buttons that you can use to modify the website. Above each section of the site you will also find a command where you should click to edit each section. The process is very simple and is aimed at those who do not know programming.

At any time you can go to the website editing mode by clicking on "My Projects" and then on "Edit Website".
