As the first son of the Wolfenstein Dukedom, Xavier's reputation as a notorious womanizer and eccentric man with an unusual pet collection isn't helping his family's name which has been tarnished for several generations. Despite being the first-born, he is not the Wolfenstein Dukedom's successor since, due to his mark, he has a higher obligation as the kingdom's head priest, which he reluctantly agrees to.

Well aware of Guinevere's role set up by the Royal Family and their engagement arrangement being a facade for the King to control the Wolfenstein Dukedom, Xavier is uncharacteristically cold towards Guinevere and blatantly flirts with other women. He has never been concerned with restoring his family name or obtaining the throne, for which he is third in line. However, after discovering the Royal Family's terrible secrets, one of which involved his mother, he decided to turn the clock back and save Guinevere from her execution.
