- Where do I go on the day of the competition?
- This year the competition will be held in the Hixon-Lied and Criss Science Buildings on the Creighton University Campus. This is a change from last year!
- The address is located on our home page, with a link to the map as well. Orientation will be held in G-04. This auditorium is located on the Ground Floor on the east end of the Hixon-Lied Science building.
- PARKING: Over the weekend, there is no penalty for parking in the faculty lots on campus. There are large faculty and student parking lots across Burt Street to the north of the Hixon-Lied and Criss Science buildings that participants can park in on the day of the competition.
- This large faculty lot is number 68 on the parking map found by following this link: https://www.creighton.edu/fileadmin/user/fac_and_staff/protected/campusParking.pdf
- If you park in this lot, there is a staircase you can walk up as you cross Burt St going south. If you enter the Hixon-Lied Science Building doors, the auditorium will be directly to your right upon entering. (you wont miss us!)
- What should I bring with me the day of the competition?
- We recommend you bring anything you may find useful. This could include FIRST AID, Pathoma, Robbins, textbooks, flashcards, your computer/iPad/smartphone. (really if you think it would help you, bring it)
- The Multidisciplinary Competition allows the use of Google, UpToDate, Clinical Pharm, and any other online resource you would like. Our patient's information cannot be found on an internet database.
- Although you are welcome to use all of these resources, the competition is timed, so keep in mind you won't be able to look everything up, having some direction will be helpful
- Is there a requirement as to knowledge base for the competition?
- No! We don't want you to exclude yourself because you don't think you know enough. Although this is a competition we want everyone to have the opportunity to learn from one another and work together!
- M2's and P3's will be helpful to have on your team, as they are likely to have more of the clinical knowledge needed to navigate the case, but this is a fun learning experience for anyone that wants to participate!
Why you may be on the fence about participating but you should reconsider:
- You really want me to come in on a Saturday? I have STEP1 studying to worry about!!
- We know M2s are worried about Step 1 AND we know its on a Saturday BUT by doing the competition you will be studying for step and putting all of the knowledge we have learned in the last two years together to take care of a REAL patient!!
- Why is the registration process so confusing?
- In an effort to make this easier attached is the link to the sign-up form: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1AIx292WQmHDgYkWfPvUySdvAEiXTA9Rm_1u7es7NbIs
- We also moved the registration link on our website so it is now the first thing you see at the top of the page!
