McDaniel Family Farms' roots run as deep as the sweet potatoes we grow. Joel McDaniel, "Paw-Paw," grew sweet potatoes and tomatoes for a living. His sons, Johnny and Joey, carried on the family traditions by growing crops of many kinds for their families and people in the community. They also took many crops to the Asheville Farmers Market, just like Joel. Johnny's daughter, Morgyn, grew a love for farming in high school, where she became involved in FFA and farmed various crops as her summer job each year. Johnny's other daughter, Megan, funded her first classroom with the profit from a watermelon patch shared with her sister. The McDaniel Family is excited for their newest farming adventure, a corn maze with pumpkins, opening September 1st and closing just in time to give God thanks for the harvest in November.
We would like to give a special thank you to Ronnie Whitesides for letting us cultivate his beautiful land this season, and for letting us use it as the starting place of our corn maze.
