The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at the Green University of Bangladesh (GUB), in collaboration with the CREDIT Lab (Center for Renewable Energy Development and Intelligent Technologies), is launching a specialized training series designed for students and faculty members interested in advanced power system modeling, renewable energy, and hybrid system design.
This specialization consists of 4 courses, aimed at building strong foundations and advancing towards industry-standard tools:
Objective: Build basic modeling and simulation skills using MATLAB/Simulink for electrical and renewable energy systems.
Session Plan:
Introduction to MATLAB/Simulink Environment & Modeling Basics
Basics of MATLAB Coding with Different Algorithms for Renewable Energy Optimization
Working with Simscape Electrical & SimPower Systems (and other Built-in Libraries)
Modeling Basic Power Components (Resistors, Inductors, Capacitors, Transformers)
Dynamic Simulation of Power Systems (Load Flow & Transient Analysis)

Objective: Design, simulate, and optimize complex renewable hybrid systems with practical performance evaluation.

Advanced PV & Wind Modeling (including resource variability)
Integration of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)
Microgrid Control Strategies (Droop Control, Grid-Connected & Islanded Mode)
Techno-Economic Analysis: LCOE, NPC, Payback Period
Case Study Project: PVโWindโBESS Microgrid for Coastal Bangladesh
PV-Wind Hybrid System Development (Hands-on Project)
Performance and Stability Analysis in a Microgrid Environment
