OVERVIEW AND ARCHITECTURAL COMMITMENT
SeeZee Private Limited built the Credentials mobile application with a strict zero-knowledge, offline-first philosophy. We operate on the foundational belief that your credentials, account secrets, and authentication keys belong solely to you.
This Privacy Policy defines our data handling architecture, security mechanisms, and user rights.
ZERO-CLOUD ARCHITECTURE AND LOCAL DATA RESIDENCY
Credentials does not collect, monitor, transmit, or synchronize your data across external networks:
No Internet Permission Declared: The application does not request, declare, or possess the android.permission.INTERNET permission in its Android Manifest. The application is technically and architecturally incapable of opening network sockets or connecting to the internet.
Zero Remote Infrastructure: We do not operate or connect to any cloud servers, databases, third-party APIs, or web services.
On-Device Database: All saved accounts, usernames, passwords, custom categories, and notes reside solely within isolated on-device local storage.
CRYPTOGRAPHIC SECURITY AND ZERO-KNOWLEDGE PROTOCOL
Your sensitive data is protected by hardware and software cryptography:
Authenticated Encryption: Every entry saved in the local database is encrypted using authenticated 256-bit AES in Galois/Counter Mode (AES-256-GCM), safeguarding data integrity against tampering.
Hardware-Backed Android KeyStore: Master cryptographic keys are generated and isolated inside the Android KeyStore provider, leveraging hardware-isolated environments such as the Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) and StrongBox Keymaster where supported by your device hardware.
Zero-Knowledge Memory Processing: Cryptographic keys are derived in temporary device memory using PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256 from your master credentials. Your Master Password and PIN are never written to disk, stored in persistent logs, or accessible to anyone. We cannot recover, reset, or access your vault if you lose your master credentials.
DATA COLLECTION, TELEMETRY, AND ADVERTISING
Zero Personal Identifiers: We do not collect names, contact details, device fingerprints (IMEI or Android ID), IP addresses, or location data.
No Tracking or Diagnostics: The application contains zero analytics SDKs, session recording tools, error telemetry frameworks, or behavioral trackers.
Completely Ad-Free: Credentials contains no third-party advertising libraries or marketing SDKs.
USER-CONTROLLED ENCRYPTED BACKUPS AND DATA ERASURE
Standalone Encrypted Backups: You can generate a portable encrypted backup file (.vault) at your own discretion. This backup is encrypted locally with authenticated cryptography using a password defined exclusively by you.
No Automatic Cloud Synchronization: Automatic unencrypted cloud backups are disabled at the manifest level to prevent unintentional cloud exposure. You have full discretion over how and where backup files are stored.
Instant Data Erasure: You can permanently erase individual items within the application or wipe the entire database by clearing app storage in Android settings or uninstalling the app. Uninstalling purges all local records and Android KeyStore keys.
DEVICE PERMISSIONS REQUESTED
Credentials requests only standard permissions strictly necessary for local functions:
Biometric Authentication (USE_BIOMETRIC / USE_FINGERPRINT): Invokes Android's native BiometricPrompt to verify your identity locally before unlocking your vault. Biometric evaluation takes place entirely within the secure hardware layer of the operating system; the app never accesses, scans, or stores biometric data.
Haptic Feedback (VIBRATE): Used solely to deliver tactile confirmation during PIN keypad interactions and lock/unlock operations.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Because the application does not collect, process, or transmit personal data of any kind, Credentials does not knowingly collect or solicit information from children under the age of 13.
CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
Because Credentials has no network connectivity to fetch remote notices, any future updates to this Privacy Policy will be delivered directly with application updates through the Google Play Store.
