boss...I was thinking that Polly set up this crap by declaring who HE WANTED to succeed him...a forced ripe not yet ready lad in his perfect mold of little to zero regional experience but T20 cred .

You said it...I just suspected that this is how it played out

He pulled a Viv (Richardson over Haynes)

You have made a wrong assumption.Viv had zero influence in determining his successor. Also he would have preferred Haynes anyway. It was Viv's intention to play in the 1992 World Cup even though he had retired from Test cricket in 1991 but the selectors at the insistence of Richardson left him out because Richie felt uncomfortable having Viv in his team.In terms of seniority in the ODI team while it is true that Hetmyer was senior to Pooran due to the fact that he started before Pooran,he was out of the team for fitness reasons so it was more likely that Pooran be given the position.

One thing I do not do is assume anything. I either get info from reliable sources, or I don't continue on my line of questioning. And at this juncture, I got it from a reliable source.

Wasn't Haynes Viv's vice-captain around that time?

The second statement between Richardson, the new captain, and Viv is inconsequential to me.

I heard guys talking about that on this MB a couple of years ago.

I honestly thought Hetmyer or Hope would have been the captain of the ODI team and Pooran the captain of the T20 but not both.

Well, it looks Sachin Tendulkar has gone back to his roots. To the good old days of playing the game of cricket on the streets. Tendulkar, arguably, India's greatest cricketing icon, took to the Mumbai streets to play cricket.

A video has emerged on the social media that shows the legendary cricketer knocking a few balls on the roadside. He seems to be playing with a few employees of a hotel, and while doing that, he was also recognised by a person travelling in a car.

Ads or no ads, Dravid has become such a huge brand that he still has a keen fan following, when he does an occasional product endorsement during his stint as the head coach to the current Indian cricket team.

"Never seen this side of Rahul bhai," is how Virat Kohli reacted after former Indian skipper and batting legend Rahul Dravid surprised all fans and followers of the gentlemen's game with his virtual transformation for a credit card bill payment app commercial. Before the start of the 14th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), former Team India skipper Dravid showcased his brand new 'angry' avatar for an advertisement that has become the talk of the town on the internet.

Days after the credit card bill payment app promotional video went viral on social media, the makers of the advertisement have shared the Behind The Scenes of the ace cricketer's trending advertisement. Portraying his emotions in an absurd manner, the BTS footage is all about the legendary cricketer and batting icon getting angry for only 46 seconds. Having said that, let's take a quick look at how Dravid aka The Wall became 'Indiranagar ka gunda'.

"Hi, this is Rahul Dravid writing the description for this video. Sorry, I lost my temper there. I am meditating these days. Well, I am just writing this to let you know that CRED truly rewards you every time you pay your credit card bills on time. They are good people." Dravid can be heard in the hilarious advertisement.
