Topic: Hybrid Learning
Masks. Plexi-glass. Hand sanitizer. What else is different?
Hey everyone! How’s your second week of Hybrid Learning? Pretty different, right? Those of you in class might have struggled to not touch your face or give a hug to your friends (so close yet so far). Besides the new precautions, the schedule just keeps on changing! Even 100 percent online people struggle as well. Like me, for example, I can’t hear what anybody in class is saying. It gets lonely. Part of how you learn is hearing other people’s questions. The Creative Comedy Club, CCC, took my mind off the loneliness, and for most, the distancing. CCC let me share stories and just have fun. Thanks to our amazing Founder, Allyson Huang, I could put my mind to paper. I could also experience the lives of other fictional characters. Laugh and smile at other’s stories and be full of life once more. Know anyone else who might be interested in our club? Share this blog post, and the link to our website: https://sites.google.com/view/creativecomedyclub and tell them what you love most about us!

Bored at home? Here's something that's fun that will keep you busy in quarantine! The CCC #QuarantineCreative Gallery lets you display your creativity while you're stuck at home. Creativity is so important, and this will exercise the creative side that everyone has! It's just some Google Slides where you can post pics of you getting creative. You can show your creativity with writing, art, photography, and more. Some ideas are that you can write up a story, take a picture with it, and just pictures of the story itself, then post it on here. You may also show off your latest drawing, take creative photos of yourself (try out different angles, lighting, props & supplies, and pose for the camera!), or yourself cooking up your fave recipe. You decide, you can do any or all, as little or as much as you want, and use your own ideas!

I'll bet almost all of us find ourselves sitting and staring at the wall out of boredom every now and then while we're stuck at home due to COVID-19. Some of you probably don't have the motivation to get up and exercise or try a new hobby and may just be stuck on a screen all day. That's not healthy. Here is my list of some things to do during quarantine to help you out of your boredom!
Get outside and take a walk! Walk around your neighborhood and pop a hello to some neighbors. You may also find a park with not too many people and spend some time taking in fresh air and stretching your legs! But, be sure to social distance too!
Exercise your brain with a little puzzle of some sort. You can put together a jigsaw puzzle with lots of pieces, pick up a Rubik's Cube, or complete some word searches and crossword puzzles!
Don't spend the whole day on a screen, watching TV, or playing video games. Pick up a board or card game, I recommend solitare, and get some family members to play! Better yet, be creative and come up with a new game yourself!
Have a hobby that you enjoyed doing before the pandemic? Try to keep it up! Don't let a few months of being stuck in quarantine get to you. Even if your sports team stopped meeting for practice or whatever, I'll bet you'll find SOME way to keep doing it! You can practice outside, but many people are also offering all sorts of stuff virtually, such as art, dance, martial arts, musical instrument classes, and much more! Speaking of musical instruments, got one lying around? Dust it off and get playing! Don't lose that hobby either!
Find a NEW hobby. My ideas for the outdoors are things such as skateboarding, longboarding and rollerblading. You can also go running or biking regularly! Want to stay indoors (make sure to get some fresh air too)? Try writing a story (and send it to CCC!), cooking and baking, drawing, painting, journaling, calligraphy, and other stuff like that.
Don't stop learning! Read a book, get some old schoolwork done, find learning resources online, or even try learning a new language by watching videos, learning from someone you know, or downloading an app!
Get some chores done around the house, I'm sure your parents will really appreciate it!
Write hand-written letters to family and friends, asking how they've been doing during this difficult time, and what they've been up to. Share about your life at home too! Letters mean more than texts, but texts are a good start too. Don't shy away from communicating with people!
Watch a movie or a TV show, but don't stay at it for TOO long.
Here at CCC, we have lots of stuff to do. Why don't you take advantage of them instead of moaning to your parents "I'm bored"? We have CCC Story Challenges, fun virtual events, and much more. Be sure to read our stories, too! You can find the stories and more ideas on our homepage.
And there you have it, my top 10! I hope you check in to the things that I have recommended. Keep working hard and stay in shape, but don't work yourself too hard - have fun with it! Don't forget to try to get your family involved in these activities. It may be hard being stuck with them at home all these months, but this is a good time to bond with them! Make sure to click on the button below to message us if you want any more ideas for some things to do! You may even tell us a hobby that you were doing before the coronavirus outbreak, we might find ways to help you! And, we would always love to hear what you've been doing lately!
