Creative Acts | Public Speaking & Storytelling Coaching
Pursuing a career in the arts is not for the faint of heart.
Through the highs and the lows of working as an actor, writer, director and producer, I know what it’s like to put myself out there, not knowing if I’ll connect, if anyone will care what I have to say, not knowing if I’ll fail or succeed.
It’s nerve racking, but it’s also a call to adventure, an invitation to step over the threshold of comfort and a dare to step into the process of communication as a creative act and discover the power of freeing and owning your voice.
Make no mistake, whether you’re a C-level executive, founder of a tech startup, owner of a small business, a non-profit administrator, a researcher or artist pursuing funding for a project, whenever you step in front of an audience to share your message, make a pitch, give a presentation, lead a meeting, or tell your story, you are participating in this creative act. Yes, there’s fear in it, but if you’re open to it, there’s also liberation. I can help you connect to the creative act and experience that liberation.
Rather than using generic approaches, I use an experiential approach with proven storytelling techniques and strategies, frameworks for performance pulled from theatre and film, and tools for managing anxiety from a physical, psychological, and structural perspective to guide you through the process of freeing and owning your voice, so you can engage your audience through a well-crafted shared experience.
What I Offer?
Public speaking doesn’t have to be an anxiety ridden fear-filled experience. It can be fun, empowering and impactful for both the speaker and the audience. And the truth is, whether you’re speaking to hundreds of people or just one person, it’s not about you, it’s about your audience, so learning how to include them in your pitch, presentation or speech is crucial to landing your message. That’s why I take an experiential approach to working with clients that blends storytelling, acting-based exercises and play with practical application and a focus on audience engagement, so clients leave our sessions understanding how to tap into the creative act by freeing and owning their voice, shaping narrative, energizing the stage, and ultimately, inviting audiences into a shared experience that will leave them wanting more.
