Arrogance and Pride

In the present era, while human beings are making astonishing progress in technological, industrial, and intellectual fields, they are also falling victim to severe moral, psychological, and social flaws. Among these, arrogance, pride, and self-conceit are negative traits that not only destroy an individual's personal character and psychological health, but also completely ruin social harmony and balance. Most individuals suffer from the misconception that arrogance and pride demonstrate their superiority, status, and authority over others. However, modern scientific, biological, and psychological research conclusively proves that arrogance is a psychological disorder and an expression of an internal complex; it is neither a virtue nor a sign of real power.

In the light of scientific, biological, and medical sciences, the states of arrogance and pride directly impact human brain chemistry and the central nervous system. When a person succumbs to feelings of arrogance and superiority, unnatural fluctuations occur in the levels of hormones such as cortisol (stress hormone) and testosterone in the body. Neurological studies reveal that intense arrogance reduces activity in the regions of the brain responsible for empathy, emotional intelligence, and mutual connection (such as the mirror neuron system). Consequently, an arrogant person experiences heightened internal anxiety, elevated blood pressure, and continuous nervous tension beneath the surface, which gradually impairs their decision-making ability and cognitive capacity.

Psychological research shows that arrogance is often a defense mechanism used to mask deep-seated insecurities, fear of failure, and emotional weakness. Arrogant individuals gradually alienate themselves from healthy social relationships and genuine emotional connections. Over time, this negative behavior leads to severe irritability, chronic frustration, paranoia, and a constant fear of losing status. Furthermore, the unnatural stress associated with maintaining an arrogant demeanor ruins the body's natural relaxation system and nervous equilibrium.

Medical, pathological, and psychological research also brings forth the promising scientific reality that overcoming arrogance and building a balanced personality is not impossible. Neurologists and psychologists state that if a person chooses strong willpower, appropriate counseling, and proper scientific and psychological methods, they can completely get rid of this negative trait. Self-awareness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), practicing empathy, active listening, and expressing gratitude can scientifically reduce stress hormones and restore emotional and neurological balance.

In conclusion, true dignity and success do not lie in pride or demonstrating superiority over others, but in humility, emotional balance, and mutual respect. Only by moving away from the temporary support of arrogance and adopting scientific and psychological methods can a person maintain their mental peace, healthy relationships, and a fulfilling life.
