For Teachers
The Nutrition unit by 'The Sassy PE teacher' found on the Teachers Pay Teachers website is a resource for teachers that is aligned with the Australian Curriculum. It covers sections for nutrients, food labels, meal planning and meal sizes. This resource includes four 90-minute lesson plans, a power point for all lessons as well as an overview and implementation guide. Activity worksheets and answers, games, and tests. The nutrition unit doesn't need to be purchased (you just have to create an account), however there is other subjects available and some do require

On this website you will find a learn section which includes information on healthy eating, fruit and veg, healthy cooking, shop smart, junk food, sugary drink, physical activity, weight and health, and alcohol. these are all factors that create healthy habits and under each section has useful information to be taught. This is a great resource for parents to look at and have a better understanding what their children are learning. This website also has lots of recipes, activities, and information for parents to access easily.
Butterfly is a multipurpose resource that can be used by parents, students, and teachers. For the parents, this resource allows them to explore information on eating disorders and body image. It has access to information on supporting young people with body image and gives the parents tips on how to deal with this. They also have an Instagram account to guide parents on how to talk to young people dealing with these situations. There is a list of all the eating disorders and tips on how to approach someone, support someone and recovery from a eating disorder.
This is a great resource for parents if they are worried about their child or would just like to read up on eating disorders and how to manage it. This website is readily available and will be shared with parents.

This is a multipurpose resource for parents, students, and teachers. This is a great website for students to access if they are struggling with health issues such as body image and eating disorders. There are fact sheets available along with a national hotline they can access via phone call, online chat, or email. This service is free and confidently run by specialised counsellors offering non-judgemental support. They also have a referral data base where students can access professional services and treatments twenty-four seven.
