Jenn's Story

My journey into the arts was not a conventional one. There was a time when the simple act of holding a paintbrush felt like an insurmountable challenge. Following a neurological condition that left my hands stiff and unresponsive, I faced the daunting reality of limited mobility.

Painting in oil began as a therapeutic endeavor, a way to navigate the complexities of disability and find a voice in a world that was new to me. Although my main emphasis remains on oil painting, I occasionally dabble in ceramics.

However, it wasn't long before this personal exploration evolved into a professional pursuit. Typical figurative pieces explore personhood in its complexity through simplified reminiscent shapes and abstract portraiture, while landscapes travel through both the internal and external world.

My current body of work bifurcates into: stories and portraits of Wyoming- the people, the animals, and the landscape; and an exploration of figurative forms. My pieces are a testament to the transformative power of expression and creativity. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and view my artwork!
