I commit to giving back 10% of all proceeds to an organization making an impact in God's world. This month I would like to highlight an organization near and dear to my heart: Mision de Amistad in Merida, Mexico. After college, I served as a missionary, working at the girl's shelter Nueva Vida. Here is an excerpt from the mission's website about it's mission:
Misión de Amistad or Mission of Friendship began in 1971 when Archbishop Manuiel Ruiz Castro, Archbishop of Yucatán, and Bishop Alfred M. Watson, Bishop of Erie, established a cooperative relationship between the two dioceses.
Mission of Friendship, centered in Christ, provides opportunities for the people of the Archdiocese of Yucatán and the people of the Diocese of Erie and the broader United States to grow in faith and love through friendship and service while sharing their gifts, talents and cultures with the hope of alleviating poverty and bring about justice.
Sadly, Mision de Amistad has been undergoing some financial difficulties. Perhaps you too would consider a donation? For more information click on the link below.
