And because I'm a lunatic, I then decided to try acrylics. This was my first effort at acrylics (which I enjoyed just as much as watercolours) and it was a VERY different learning curve.
I've had this image of Emi in my head for a very long time but with no way of conveying it accurately. It's obviously inspired by the opening chapter where Christopher finds her in the barn.
I wanted Emi to look as angelic as possible here. It's not an accurate representation of how she looks in the book, with her being undead for 500 years and all, but more how Christopher sees her.
I wanted it to be an enticing image so I could use it for the cover.
