It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to CQE Days 2026, which brings together a representative sample of the research carried out by the community of the Centro de Química Estrutural (CQE).
CQE’s mission is to generate both fundamental and applied knowledge in Chemistry, contributing to the development of innovative solutions to address the major challenges facing contemporary society. This mission is fulfilled through excellent, interdisciplinary, and internationally competitive research, supported by advanced training of human resources and by fostering collaboration between academia, industry, and other sectors of society.
The works presented in this book reflect the diversity and complementarity of the four thematic lines that structure CQE’s scientific activity. Although distinct in their specific objectives, these areas converge toward a common vision: to use Chemistry as a tool for understanding complex systems and developing sustainable solutions to global challenges. Through the integration of experimental and computational approaches, the promotion of interdisciplinarity, and the transfer of knowledge to society, CQE seeks to contribute actively to the Sustainable Development Goals and to National and European scientific and technological priorities.
As in previous editions, CQE Days provides a unique forum for sharing results, discussing ideas, and strengthening scientific collaborations. It is also an opportunity to recognize the contributions of the students, researchers, and faculty members who, on a daily basis, help build the scientific excellence of our Centre.
Finally, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all authors, participants, invited speakers, and members of the organizing committee for their dedication and commitment in making this event possible. Your work is essential to the continued growth and recognition of CQE as a leading research unit at both the national and international levels.
I wish you all a stimulating and inspiring scientific meeting.
