The Bachelor of Arts in Political Science program aims to equip students with the essential and advanced concepts, theories, insights, and techniques in explaining the nature of power, the government, and the state. Students under this program will explore topics related to political theory, international relations, comparative politics, political dynamics and behavior, and governance.
The course program is exactly balanced to offer excellent instruction, instill a research culture, employ simulation programs and allow the most feasible internship for students. This would enable them to resolve challenging problems and unravel current political trends that occur within the domestic or global arena.
Furthermore, students will be equipped with relevant lifelong skills and competencies that are primarily needed to become a political scientist or join the workforce and different work environs such as in the bureaucracy, civil society, the academe, international organizations/non-government organizations, private think tanks, research-based institutions, the private sector military, and security sector and lastly, even careers in the foreign service.

Design and execute research inquiries using appropriate quantitative and qualitative methods guided by theories or conceptual frameworks;

Critique, judge, and respond to current issues and problems based on a substantive; and
Develop a predisposition toward ethical political involvement and practice in various forms and different forms and different levels of engagement.

In addition to University policies regarding academic delinquency, incoming second-year students of the department must have a weighted average grade of 2.50 in al subjects.
The BAPS program trains its students with the necessary tools and competencies to become a political scientists or join the workforce in different work environments, such as in the bureaucracy, civil society, the academe, international organizations/non-government organizations, private think tanks, research-based institutions, the private sector, and even a career in the foreign service, among others. It is likewise a good preparatory program for its graduates who are interested to take further studies in graduate school or law.
