Bachelor of Arts in Political Economy

The Bachelor of Arts in Political Economy is an interdisciplinary undergraduate program offered to students whose interest is in the integrated study of economics and politics. The program strikes a balance between classroom and research-based activities in understanding the perplexities of politico-economic trends and issues anchored on contemporary economics and politics employing modern technologies.

1. Make more educated decisions on political and economic matters by applying knowledge of politics, economics, and other social sciences.

2. Incorporate knowledge of political economy to the provision of solutions to real-world problems, as well as an understanding of the impact of such solutions on the global, economic, environmental, and societal levels.

3. Conduct research to test hypotheses and validate assumptions, as well as to analyze and interpret data from simulated processes.

4. Communicate results verbally or in written form to experts in the field.

• Upper 50% of those who passed the PUP College Entrance Test/ College Assessment Evaluation-PUP.

• At least 85% or higher Senior Highschool Average.

• Interview conducted by the College Dean or Chairperson.

In addition to University policies regarding academic delinquency, incoming second year students of the department must have a weighted average grade of 2.50 in all subjects.
