Chloé Postel-Vinay

Hi! I am a PhD student at the University of Chicago advised by Danny Calegari. Previously, I did a Masters of Mathematics at the University of Warwick. I will be on the job market next Fall.

My work focuses broadly on combinatorial and geometric group theory.  My research interests so far include:

• Combinatorial structures for complements of discriminant loci (see some pretty pictures)

• Geometry of the Hurwitz action

• Shephard groups

Here is my CV.

Preprints:

• The geometric combinatorics of k-shuffle braid groups, 2026 [arxiv]

• The geometric combinatorics of k-shuffle polynomials, 2026 [arxiv]

• The geometry of the pure Hurwitz action, in preparation.
