Categories, proofs, models and sets: A Workshop on Fundamentals of Mathematical Logic

Mathematical Logic provides foundations to various well-known subjects, for instance, Mathematics, Computer Science and related topics with a strong foothold in Philosophy. It lays down a formal language to reason about mathematical structures, reducing ambiguities in the description and fallacies in reasoning. Model Theory and Proof Theory are integral parts of mathematical logic. Set Theory, which is studied through the alleys of model theory, tries to give a base on top of which the rest of mathematics rests on. Category Theory is, in comparison to these, new to the game. The mantra of category theory is to look at different mathematical structures and maps between them, from a bird’s eye viewpoint. They all play a crucial part in the study of mathematical logic and foundations of mathematics.
