I started my research activity with Optical solitons. I got interested in nonlinear optics and optical solitons after I gave a seminar on this topic during my first year of Masters. The concept that in a suitable medium light can propagate without diffraction/dispersion conserving its profile was quite interesting!!

Since then I have studied the existence, stability and application of spatial optcial solitons in various media including Kerr-like, photorefractive, photopolymer, PT-symmetric, VCSEL and so on.

Currently, my interests are in spin-orbit photonics where we demonstrated waveguiding based on Geometric phases in the absence of refractive-index-gradient in anisotropic material.
