Situational Analysis can be broken into three major parts:
With BCI research at an all time high over the past few decades, there aren't many consumer products yet to showcase its potential. Considering the ultimate goal of BCI is to treat and/or compensate mental disabilities, linking their inputs to a virtual reality is a safe and impactful method of proving their potential.
As it stands, there is no major risk in terms of the technology itself, but the expedition of the process allows for the benefits of the system to be distributed and even improved with future iterations. This combined with the potential progress in the research side of BCI makes it a plus for both sides.
Technically, if the link is never established between the two technologies, there is no repercussion on the side of Virtual Reality. For BCI, there is no way of knowing how the research will develop on its own, but there is the potential that the technology surrounding it may never intermingle with other applicable devices.
Problem Analysis poses questions about what you do and do not know, to isolate what is important about the issue.
