The City of Coachella celebrated the completion of its urban greening and connectivity project in the Pueblo Viejo Downtown District.

City officials, along with the Coachella Valley Association of Governments, California Climate Investments and Urban Greening, hosted a ribbon- cutting ceremony at the intersection of 6th Street and Grapefruit Boulevard.

In the city of La Quinta, students, parents and staff of Amelia Earhart Elementary met at a nearby park to celebrate  International Walk to School Day.

They arrived in bright colors and neon pom-poms to help with traffic and pedestrian safety. The crowd of participants formed a “walking school bus” on their way to the classroom.
