Course Description:

Drama 1 pursues a comprehensive standards-based theatre arts training program to develop perceptive and aesthetically aware students who would be able to enter into further academic and/or professional theatre work. The program provides a foundation in basic acting technique and theory and an introduction to various periods in theatre history. Activities include basic warm up stretches and relaxation exercises, vocal development, improvisation, and scene preparation. Participants in the class become members in the drama club, Creators of Riveting Entertainment (CORE).

Drama 2 is intended for students committed to polishing their performance skills. Activities focus on all aspects of developing scenes and plays for major productions. Production management, directing, publicity, and a deepening experience of acting technique are stressed, as well as further exploration of key periods in theatre history. Participants in the class become members in the drama club, Creators of Riveting Entertainment (CORE).
