Biography

My name is Taylor Cozart and I graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a Bachelor's Degree in K-12 Art Education. My emphasis in college was in digital and film photography, both of which I continue to use in my own art making. My concentration was in jewelry and metalsmithing where I learned many valuable skills that I continue to utilize. I am passionate about accessibility, social emotional learning, and of course...all things that fall into the realm of creativity! In my class we respect one another's backgrounds and differences to cultivate a space that is filled with equity, love, and inclusion. Outside of school I love playing with my dogs, gardening, being outside, and home improvement activities!

Teaching Philosophy

In regard to my teaching philosophy there are several pedagogical values that I strive to uphold. Some of these values are; encouraging student involvement, accessibility, cultural responsiveness, multiculturalism, and a student centered classroom. It is important to me that the students help enrich their own learning and create unique art and connections that are relevant to their own experiences. As an educator it is my hope to provide students with all the necessary tools they could need to create art that leaves them feeling proud and capable of anything they may set their mind to. One of my biggest passions in life is working with students with disabilities. I find joy in finding ways to create an accessible classroom that also reflects aspects of *Universal Design to benefit all students.
